I did come from reddit but I'm still there. I haven't left yet.

True! I'd forgotten that was a possibility apparently. I'll edit the title to reflect that.

I'm actually still at reddit too, I'm just trying to cut back on my usage of it.

I've been looking for a reddit replacement for several years when their moderation system really bit us in the ass. But I'm sticking around a while longer to work on bringing over some of the better contributors.

Yeah, I tried out hubski a while back but couldn't deal with the UI. Reddit's just not a very friendly place IMO, there's sort of this culture of one-upmanship there that I'm personally not a fan of.

But good luck with bringing over more people! Just not too many :p

I'm also still there, but mainly lurk except on three subs, sometimes four. I don't go there often anymore as I like it here much better.

I like the subs where it's closer to what it's like here. Smaller ones with honest discussion-based content are the only places I visit these days.

Same here. Snapzu has great content and culture, but lacks the user base for certain types of interests like /r/photoshopbattles, /r/earthporn., and particular /r/askreddit questions.

I had long since tired of having to scroll past upvoted predictable inspeak posts again and again in so many threads to see meaningful or even just original replies, and the quality of some subs I liked deteriorated as mods were overwhelmed and undersupported, but ultimately the half measures which lead to their current policy of ad free hosting of hate groups came across as an affront than progress. It's sad, because I think a lot of communities within the reddit-sphere don't deserve to be lumped in with ones dedicated to images of the sexualized desecration of corpses and the fostering of hate conclaves

I got tired of the BS surrounding /r/fatpeoplehate and Victoria's firing. I don't particularly care for what happened (don't have a position per se) but the crap that hit the frontpage for these two events really pissed me off. Mysoginistic, racist, hateful... I realized I was ashamed of being part of that community as a whole.

Things have calmed down over there, so I've been back from time to time. I think coming to Snapzu has shown me the truth of reddit... The content just isn't that great anymore. Truly insightful or funny posts are few and far between, and that's even true of non-defaults.

I still visit reddit on occasion, but something's broken in terms of my affection for that site. If Snapzu grows and gives me more daily content, I doubt I'll need reddit any longer. For now, my only problem with Snapzu is a lack of frequent new content; typically, a visit a day is enough to see everything.

Still perusing Reddit, but liking it here more. Over there, it's like a billion voices screaming to be heard, and everybody is trying to come out loudest. Now, there are a few subs that are genuinely good, (r/meditation, r/wickededge come to mind) but those are usually smaller groups and easier to mod I suppose.

I love the lack of Hive Mind here, which is to say, the Hive mind is why I'm not paying Reddit as much attention lately.

Yes, I did. I still go back there, but only with the app when I get bored elsewhere. I would look at snapzu instead, but I don't have an easy way to do that on the phone.

Brigading and the Hive Mind was becoming more of an influence in the subs I frequented, even some of the more obscure ones. I had been looking for an alternative for quite a while, the few that I found were either pale imitations of Reddit or so politically oriented that they weren't worth the time I wasted checking them out. Once I joined here I've had no reason to go back to Reddit.

I'm here as well just to enjoy the positive aspects of a smaller community and the format here. I still like reddit though.

I didn't leave Reddit per se, I now frequent both nearly everyday, one is just for quick glances (Reddit) and the other (Snapzu) is for the discussion on topics I'm interested in and trying to encourage growth in certain communities (tribes).

I am from Reddit and I am still there, but I am getting used to being here and trying out the stuff that is here. I'm not ready to abandon Reddit quite yet because it still has the content that I like to view.

I came to make a couple communities and have fun. So far it's been great, but Snapzu could use more people. And hey, technically I haven't renounced Reddit yet. I still visit it as much as I visit Snapzu :)

I came from reddit, but I still check on few smaller subreddits there. Most of the smaller subreddits are decent and civil, and good place to get info from. Like my univ or city subreddit for example.

I came from Reddit. I haven't left though, because I still enjoy a lot of the subs there. If you search past the default sub front page content, you'll be able to avoid a lot of the negativity and hivemindedness. I think there are many great, active communities with great moderators and people.

I came to Snapzu because I really like its UI. I see a lot of promise and dedication with the team behind it. I also like how it is structured and how emphasis is on discussion and conversation. Right now though, there just does not seem to be a lot of activity - well, not as much activity as I am hoping for. I love it here and I see a lot of potential, but I am still keeping my options open.

The spread of so-called "front pages of the internet" is destructive to already established user-submitted communities. Yes, welcome to our unassuming corner of the net, leave your misogyny at the door.

The tone on Reddit has changed over the last 6 months. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older or if the content is just changing away from my interests but I just find myself rolling eyes at almost every top comment. It's to the point where I can predict the comment before I even click the thread. IDK maybe I was just ready for a change.

Are we not called "Snappers" here?

I did come from reddit. I'd been getting more and more dissatisfied/disinterested for a while, everything was getting so predictable, even in my smaller subreddits. I was probably downvoting as many posts as I was upvoting, just because it was the same old shit as always.

Then during /r/fatpeoplehate vs Ellen Pao vs Victoria people were asking about alternatives to reddit. Voat's biggest draw was it's commitment to free speech, which meant that's where all the fat people haters were, but Snapzu seemed to be more about encouraging community involvement. So I came here. But I needed an invite code, so I found one on a snapzu subreddit, and here I am!
