Idk, butif I recall correctly I think /u/Zeus has said this before (maybe he has a lot of them)

Or maybe they have a terrible memory condition where everyday they wake up amd think it's the same day, the day they are supposed to hand in their article but in fact that day was 5 years ago. Your comment may have caused them great distress. Well Untill tomorrow that is, then they'll be fine.

It's a retrospective on a videogame. No big deal, but I wanna get it just right.

About a month ago I finally said enough is enough and got out of an extremely toxic relationship and living situation.

I now live with positive, supportive people. Also, finally got my Snapzu invite code!

My band is playing a gig a week from Saturday. I haven't played music live in a few years. I'm nervous as shit, but really excited too.

      Have fun and report back!

Is there anywhere online I can check out your music?

What type of music do y'all play? Do you have anything posted on youtube I can give a listen to?

I had a pretty rough week, but this too shall pass. No matter how bad it gets that's always good news to me.

Hold on to that positive attitude! When stressed I like to remind myself that the universe is really, really, really big.

As silly as that may sound, it relaxes me.

Theyre pretty nice. I've worn slippers exclusively for the past year so my slippers go bad pretty fast.

My new business is getting jobs, just opened a new account in it's name, and today I measured at 83.9kg which is 18.1 kg down from where I was 3 months ago. :D Pretty stoked.

I offer Handyman services. So all the little fixit jobs that people either don't know how to do themselves or don't have time to. So far I have waterproofed a roof with fibre tech paint, I have fixed a fireplace and I have refitted a new apartment with different light fittings. I also now have a job to go put up a set of curtain railings. I love the diversity in tasks I can be called out for. Even if some of them are mundane jobs like painting, each job has its own challenges you have to overcome.

right on! sounds like you are very good with your hands and knowing how to fix a variety of issues, that probably comes in handy a lot at home too :)

I studied mechanical engineering so I have developed a way of being able to assess/learn how things work even if I haven't worked with it before. Plus I have always been the type to take things apart. As you said it's very useful around the house, my mom has had me fixing things for years :P I kind of realised, if I can do these things around my house, maybe others would want me to do it for them too :P

I used to do mechanical drafting, AutoCAD and ProE and I have done quite a bit of handy work myself, such as roofing, building houses and log cabins, building docks and so on and so forth... I love it and sometimes crave the feeling you get from it but I couldn't make a career out of it. Kudos to you. :)

That's awesome, I feel working with our hands is a skill we as people are using less and less. I just really enjoy it. There is a serious sense of achievement when I an step back, look at my work and say "I did that." :) I alwys dreamt of having my own workshop in the garage, this just gives me a reason to fast track buying all the equipment I wanted, even if its not all thing a handyman woukd technically have haha.

I also really enjoy Cad work, considered doing some freelance stuff in that regard but never really got around to it. I've done ProE and SolidWorks though.

lmao why does everyone assume I'm a dude?

          • Wenjarich
            +3

Hahaha sorry, I honestly wasn't even imagining a gender when I gave that response despite the "man" part. It's just one of my go to response to an unknown Internet stranger who has said something nice. That said, I have noticed a lot of women online complain about the same thing, so you are not alone there, it does seem to be the assumtion a lot of users make.

I'd like to think that it's kind of got to do with, if you don't know anything about the other person on the other end, you assume similar traits to yourself because that's the easiest to relate to. Hence if you deal with a guy they'll probably assume you are a guy. Anyway, that's just my random 2 cents :)

            • Rhumanity
              +3

I'm not complaining about it. I actually just think it's funny because I didn't think I type like a man would, at least in my responses to things but I guess the internet really strips us all down to Asexuals to a certain degree. lol

also it's happened 4 or 5 times within the past day so I guess I just noticed it.

Welp, did a 5K on saturday (ever run in a torrential downpour? yeah.), and rode bikes for another 3.5 miles on Sunday. So, today's good news is that this fat man is gonna sit on his ass all day and recover.

Bonus! Me and the wife finished cleaning out the garage. There's now enough room to hang up the bikes and store more stuff

Recently tarted to go to the gym and try to get fit again. After high school, when my growth peak stopped, I just didn't stop eating (depression and stuff didn't help, but I can't blame everything on that!). I was 5'9", 170lbs, went to 5'10.5", 245lbs. I've been stagnating between 218-220 for the last five years, got down to 212 when I looked this morning, and I'm really excited. Feels good. Planning on hitting at least 195. That's my first milestone! Slowly getting there, I got to re-learn how to eat, but I'm getting better.

Girlfriend got in with me, too, and it's really motivating to try and get fit together. We have let ourselves go a bit, we both gained weight since the beginning of our relationship (6 years ago!). I wouldn't say we're really fat, but we aren't fit either, but we're both motivated and dedicated to losing back that weight!

At the grand aul age of 35 and after 5 years of study my husband got a first for his degree, he graduates tomorrow. I'm pleased as punch and may have a little cry. He's completely changed his career and went straight into a job two days after his last exam which he's just been made permanent at. Totally my hero :D
