I used to do mechanical drafting, AutoCAD and ProE and I have done quite a bit of handy work myself, such as roofing, building houses and log cabins, building docks and so on and so forth... I love it and sometimes crave the feeling you get from it but I couldn't make a career out of it. Kudos to you. :)
That's awesome, I feel working with our hands is a skill we as people are using less and less. I just really enjoy it. There is a serious sense of achievement when I an step back, look at my work and say "I did that." :) I alwys dreamt of having my own workshop in the garage, this just gives me a reason to fast track buying all the equipment I wanted, even if its not all thing a handyman woukd technically have haha.
I also really enjoy Cad work, considered doing some freelance stuff in that regard but never really got around to it. I've done ProE and SolidWorks though.

you should try Blender... there is a tribe dedicated to it and there are a lot of tutorials posted for beginners.
Thanks I have joined the tribe. I will definitely check it out when I have time.
