Was driving down the road once when a came upon a car with hydraulics, jacked up on one side like this (except that the driver's side was higher).

We were both going about 30MPH. While I was impressed, I immediately hit the brakes so I wasn't beside him any longer. A few minutes later, he dropped the side down. Weight shift was so violent he spun into my lane and stopped. Easily drove around him and kept on to the house. When in doubt, give the crazy people room to be crazy.

Same stretch of road I had a guy in a red truck behind me, driving crazy and swerving. I got out of his way. He accelerated up a little bit, drove off on the side of the road. Opened the door and started puking. Guess he couldn't make it home.

Glad I moved from the south.

Replying to myself to keep from flooding the page with anecdotes.

Worked at a small web hosting company where the head of HR just happened to be the CEO's mom. She was hilarious. Loved pulling pranks and shit. Back in the day, the "developer herd" (about 15 guys) would rip out of the office at 3pm, walk a few blocks to a local gas station. Buy up a shit ton of energy drinks, snacks and stuff, and then walk back to the building.

That particular day, I had to deliver a box to one of our locations. CEO told me she would take me. Met her up at the front of the building, hopped in. She took a hard left and started down the road. Lo and behold, it was about 3:30 and the developer herd was on it's way back, munching on snacks and downing energy drinks. "Watch this" she said.

She sped up, turned a hard right on the wheel, bouncing up onto the curb, aiming right for the developer herd. Geeks scattered, dropping snacks and energy drinks and otherwise trying to get out of the way. Slowed down just enough so everyone could see her grinning face (and me in the passenger seat floor board), when she turned back on the road and drove straight to my destination.

"They deserved it" she muttered, lighting up a cigarette. "They damn well know that breaks are 15 minutes".

      This is a true story.

It's not super "crazy," I guess, but I drove by a windmill blade on the back of a special-sized flat bed truck a while back and it totally blew my mind. They look big when you see them in action, but up close they really challenge your frames of reference. I had a similar experience the first time I stood at the bottom of an upright ICBM at an Air Force museum. Just HUGE.

I wanted to say I related to you but I just realized I can't recall if I saw it in person or the Internet... :[

Sometimes the mountain roads here will have a rock slide event, it's rare but it happens. This one time a massive boulder rolled down the mountain side and managed to stop just before the right lane started, as I drove by it I realized just how huge this rock was! It must have weighted 20 tons, it was massive, easily 10 times the size of my car. I didn't see it roll down, but it broke through all the safety fences and left a big mess.

...broke through all the safety fences and left a big mess.

I've had parties that were pretty much that

Wow, you set up safety fences?

          You don't party with toddlers?

20 tons might be a light estimate. Your car is mostly hollow so that people can fit inside.

How can you estimate that weight? I would have no idea.

The other day while it was raining, I was looking at a roundabout and a car was stopping, suddenly I saw a biker sliding on her side straight through the roundabout and out on the other side. Thankfully the cars had seen her fall and stopped. She got up unharmed and biked away like nothing had happened.

Another time, two blue Mazda 323s collided with eachother because one of them forgot to yield. They looked exactly the same, except one was a slightly older model.

haha. Dude, if it was me, even if I was hurt I'd still get up, hop on the bike, and haul ass like nothing happened.

I can't imagine the level of embarrassment involved with eating shit in front of a bunch of cars and stopping traffic. Poor girl. Hope she was okay.

I was expecting her to look worse, but it seemed as if she was unhurt. Let's hope it was so.

I was driving in the middle of the mountains in California in the middle of the night in the pouring rain. Out of nowhere a random guy runs out at me screaming for me to stop waiving his hands at me. I feel terrible about it to this day that I did not stop, but the closest anything was miles away and I was young and freaked out.

Honestly, you probably did the smartest thing. As sad as it is, people pick middle of nowhere places to rob people.

You probably shouldn't feel bad. He could have been an axe murderer.

During the 2003 Invasion of Iraq, we were on a convoy of humvees and LAVs heading north on a major highway. We had to stop, we get to fish bone formation. Everyone mans their posts. This one guy runs down the steep slope until he's about 100 yards away. He drops trou (short for drops his trousers) and we all get a general admission pass to him pinching a loaf, dropping down, and plopping on the contrasting desert sand. He got a standing ovation from the convoy.

The bonus is that this happened during an invasion. We're just out there risking our asses when anything can happened, and this was the entertainment.

I wasn't driving, but a deer ran into my grandma's car while I was in the back seat. It was a summer night, so she had her windows down and it ran into the front passenger side. It's head went in the empty space and snapped it's neck. (Going around 55mph)

I was taking a left at an intersection once and a car flew out of nowhere trying to make a corner at like 100 kmph or approx 60 mph and hit the middle raiser divider and flip on it roof and slide down to a few feet away from me. I was the only car around at like 3 am on a somewhat usually busy 4 lane street. It was a drunk driver and he had a bunch of friends in the car, some of whom had to go to the hospital. I helped some of the people out of the car. When the cops showed up the drunk driver got arrested.

Road my motorcycle, as I often did, home late from work. On a twisty, windy road, I come up on a Dodge Magnum going a bit slow. As I'm about to pass him, I see him tap his brake lights then I hear/see bits and pieces of glass and plastic come my way. I dodged (heh) most of it. A half second later, I see a doe slide across the hood and off to the other side. I drove back to find it dead with a broken neck.

If I had passed when I intended a second earlier, I probably wouldn't be typing this right now.

I was driving up the Cairn O' Mounth and saw a sheep eating the carcass of a deer. I never knew sheep were onmivores but horses are omnivores so you can never tell.

Well I got hit by a drunk driver once and was flung across the freeway... that was weird to "see."

Not me but my dad on the same freeway saw a dog being dragged by the leash by a truck (it had been tied in the bed).

I put my hands over my mouth and said OMG

Edit: I just hugged and kissed my dog.

That was his story to explain to me why it is illegal to put dogs in the bed of a truck in some places. lol

Edit: Dog kisses and hugs +1

I don't know if this counts, but yesterday I had what I can only describe as a blob of meat with a feather still attached plop into the middle of my windshield while I was going down the freeway. It's not as exciting as watching speeding cars flip over, but it freaked me out.

One time I was driving in Philly down chestnut street which is a pretty busy street in center city, I heard what i thought was a dirt bike engine but I couldn't see a dirt bike. I looked over the the right to see this dude riding a 4 whealer ATV, must have been going 20-30 mph, on the side walk. The thing took, up the whole sidewalk I was really afraid I was going to see someone get killed.

A dead body plastered against the windscreen of a freshly crashed car. In France. Gendarmerie just arriving at the scene.

Saw a dump truck with a full load take a turn a little to fast and ended up on it's side skidding down the street, gravel everywhere.
