    Kickstarter Board Games and You

With some major names in the Kickstarter shipping product to backers this week (That would be Two Rooms and a Boom, after 1 year+ delay from their original estimate and Exploding Kittens who started shipping just in the nick of their original estimate), I thought it would be good to have a little discussion about how you use Kickstarter in relation to our hobby, how often you plan on using Kickstarter in the future, and what types of things do you look for when backing a game? Feel free to ask and answer other questions, or give general opinions as long as it's based on the topic.

Has everyone tried Magic Duels yet? What do you think?

I know a lot of people were having connection issues yesterday. Did everyone get to try this? I played for a little bit (beat Gideon's quest) but I'm not sure I'm going to play that much on it. I'd be more interested in playing vs AIs (I'm not really interested in playing against random people on the internet), but the built in quest mode is pretty restricting.

    Snapzu Plays Diplomacy

    Hey /t/boardgames,

A few weeks ago there were a bunch of people interested in trying out Diplomacy for the first time. Apparently this thing called Reddit decided to fall apart and the flood of users has lost the momentum of the online Diplomacy game for the fellow Snapzites. Of the 7 players we had slated to play, 1 is far too busy for it, since all his free time is spent on the site. And the other must have gone on vacation or something, since he hasn't been on Snapzu for a week and a half. That means we have two free spots in our game. No experience required, but please read up on the rules before you join.

    http://snapzu.com/t/snapzuplays/tribepost/N44C4BE/diplomacy-retry

First come first served to join in the game. If there's an outpouring of people who want to play, someone else can organize simultaneous games for the overflow. Just so you know 4/5 players will be playing for the first time. I've promised to be as helpful a Diplomat as I can be for the newbies. So certainly any interested players are welcome. All we ask is that you can commit to communicating with everyone in a friendly manner, and submitting moves every 24 hours (it doesn't take too long to do.) If you have any specific questions about Diplomacy, I'm sure I can probably answer them.

    Magic Origins Update Bulletin—Oracle Changes

What is Oracle? Magic is a game made up of more than 14,000 interchangeable pieces—the cards. Over the years, we've felt the need to update the wordings of older cards, whether because we've introduced a new keyword, or a card was printed w ...

    Diplomacy Retry

Alright, so it looks like trying to gather everyone's email didn't work. So let's try something else.

    1. Create an account on playdiplomacy.com
    2. Join game "Snapzu Plays #1"
    3. The password is "snapzuvian"

And let's try to get all the people involved in the first game in. Theres 4 of us in this tribe, so that means 2 other people still didn't join that were still interested. And we need one more. Worst case scenario is posting to /t/boardgames as a first come first served.

    Diplomacy Game 1

Hey folks, I wanted to make a separate area for our Diplomacy game so it'd be easier to communicate with each other about the game. If for some reason, you don't believe you want to play right now. Please let us know so we can find a replacement.

I just went to random.org to generate starting countries for everyone (since GamesByEmail doesn't really have a randomizer). Right now this is who we have signed up for this game.

    /u/cheesemangeur - Turkey

    • AustriaHungary

    /u/caelreth - Italy

    /u/splitfish - Russia

    /u/ressmox - Germany

    /u/bogdan - England

    /u/tehdiplomat - France

Ok, /u/drunkenninja said he can't play right now. So we need a replacement. I'll see if someone from the original thread is interested.

    http://gamesbyemail.com/Games/Politics

I can start a game here, but I need everyone's emails to invite you to the game if people want to PM those to me? If not everyone is comfortable with that, we can do a game on PlayDiplomacy where it'd be an account creation, and then just someone sending an invite code to you. Hopefully we can get the ball rolling here...
