It's worse. Because the active base is smaller you get to know people and it starts to feel sociable so you forget to go outside.
Also, I'm just going to gain one more level before I go to bed.

Wherever this whole community is, they better start heading to the /t/dccomics tribe, because it's pretty lackluster so far, and that is the only reason I really go to reddit now, is for the comic book community. It would be great if that could be here too. Eventually.

But actually you just get XP for commenting and posting. Reputation keeps you from spamming random comments and posts to get XP.
To expand on that, your reputation affects how quickly you gain XP, e.g. my comment XP has gone from 200 to 240 to 280 as a consequence of my reputation increases (I believe, unless leveling also affects XP gain, which I don't believe it does).
That's going to be an awful amount of snaps/comments depending on your level...
I actually think that this is the reason I feel less like I am wasting my time here. I feel the community here is more sincere and so I gain more out of being here. As an example, the /t/asksnapzu question I posted not even 2 hours ago has already received more responses, all constructive, than I ever received in the total lifespan of any of my posts on reddit. I also ended up picking up a whole new hobby (learning python) because of a post here haha.
I also really like seeing a post somewhere and thinking to myslef, "hey! it's double2 from /t/Humour!" Gives a greater sense of belonging.
Plus you don't have to find a thread in the first ten seconds to get your comment read. In a reddit default, if you're not sitting on "new" you may as well just no post, because no one is reading it.

Honestly once they get the API done and a decent mobile app comes out I will probably be on here even when I'm outside.

devs are working on the api to create a snapzu app, there is already one in the play store (android) but its not working really well, dev is trying to update it, but without the api, it makes it really dificult, anyway an app will come around soon :)

yes indeed. Snapzu has a rabbit hole just as deep and convoluted as Reddit..Plus the bonus of people you can recognize.

It already ate up more of my time than Reddit ever had; though now that it is constantly getting more and more crowded, I feel less of a need to contribute.
It still isn't too crowded IMO. If we kept the community around this size I'd be really happy. I can go through and read most of the posts on the site in an hour or two, then go off and contribute on my own. Perfect size for me to be honest, though I know it'll probably get bigger with time
One thing I'm really liking about Snapzu over reddit is the fact that Snapzu is very cuddly. Especially in terms of UI and community.
Seriously. I pretty much haven't seen any awful comments yet.
If someone disagrees with me, I usually get a long, well thought out response that is written in a very level headed manner. It is unlike any internet community I have seen.
I mean I had a reasonable gun control discussion and a educational Obamacare discussion the other day on here. You can't even have those in real life!

I have been procrastinating like crazy since coming here. I've joined the /t/irc channel and have been getting to know people pretty well, which has been causing me to procrastinate EVEN MORE. Not to mention that everyone is awesome and nice. I love seeing familiar faces :)
As far as I'm concerned, snapzu is my job now.

Im suprised at how active it is. i got my invite today and I was crossing my fingers, hoping it wouldn't be a dead zone.
As you can see, everyone is too busy to not leave it dead.
I'm loving this site more and more as time goes by but I still have to go back to reddit every once in a while to view the subs I'm still subscribed to since there is a lot more content.
I find the content here though, especially the discussion threads, tends to have more depth and original thought than reddit's threads. A lot less parroting of popular community thought here. There are actually individuals interested in providing unique perspectives on snapzu.

I'm from reddit and now I suppose Snapzu. I like the gamification elements. It's like what trip adviser has done recently! It's a fairly innocuous way of making me comment more!
They did a really good job of making sure they were encouraging good posts too with the reputation system.
All in all, it fixes a lot of the problems I had with reddit (troliing, community in general, poor design, etc).
