Hey everybody! Yet another reddit immigrant here. Can't say I'm a huge fan of what's going on at Reddit, and Snapzu seems like a really nice alternative. It's nice to meet everyone!

Nice to meet you /u/ObiWanShinobi! Welcome to Snapzu. I came over from Reddit myself, but that was a little while ago, before the most recent fireworks. :)
It's funny, cause I joined reddit right around when the whole Digg exodus happened. I'm not sure if this is going to be the same situation. but man are people unhappy over there.
Yeah, r/all is pretty nuts right now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. In the meantime, I hope you like it here.
I am actually loving how Snapzu looks. The website design is awesome! I think I'll like it here.
The site design is slick! That's a major plus for me as well, along with the great community.
I agree. It's beautiful,well organized and folks are respectful and nice to each other.
Been a member here for about 2 weeks now --- really enjoying myself here and the community is fantastic.
I completely agree, the place seems really well run. The only concerns I have are based on the amount of freedom it is willing to allow its users. Would really appreciate a word from one of the owners on this.
The stipulation that users only refrain from posting illegal things is the same as what Reddit used to have up until a few years ago. I honestly prefer it this way, but the mods will definitely have to keep an eye out if reddit explodes and large amount of people end up here.

There are community rules outlined in the prologue. I've corresponded with one of the Snapzu team members about this issue and they clarified that they intend to enforce those rules.
Honestly, I don't think this community has the intention to support hate speech, racism or anything else that can be construed as generally despicable behavior.
The rules strictly forbid it even. It was one of the main reasons i went here.

I couldn't believe how much r/all blew up in a short amount of time. I like the site layout here and from my little experience it seems like a easy site to navigate and learn.
The general concept is very similar to reddit which is great because its easy enough to understand, however there are so many awesome features beyond the first glance that it gets addictive. I actually made a snap a while back about some of the best features, its a bit outdated but still worth a look.
I just found that entirely on my own a minute or two ago. Yeah, I love the experience feature and the Rep %. This site combines a lot of cool ideas, some of which Reddit definitely missed out on.
Gotta be patient with the REP. It goes up slowly, but rightfully so.
Heh, yeah I figured. I've only been here one day, so it hasn't even had a chance to update yet. But it's a really good idea.
Yeah i think it tallies up once a day. Usually around midnight Eastern time.
I don't think its ever blown up to that level before. Definitely the most interesting drama to watch.

Hello ObiWanShinobi, and everyone else! I too have found my way to Snapzu from Reddit, and so far it seems like a lovely place, with a very refreshing community. I'm looking forward to spending time here, and getting to know many of you. Here's to an exciting new adventure!

Welcome. I wonder how many here on Snapzu aren't from Reddit? Granted, I didn't come during the current situation, but having gone though the Digg fiasco years ago I've long since seen the writing on Reddit's wall and have set up shop here months ago.
Were you on Digg originally? I found out about Reddit when that whole shebang went down.
Yes. I joined Digg around the time the HDDVD encryption fiasco then moved to Reddit when V4 happened. I've never seen a site die as fast as it did when Digg released V4. Reddit buckled under the influx of refugees and Digg became a dumpster fire. I guess it's inevitable that it would happen to Reddit, albeit not as dramatic as Digg's downfall. Digg shot itself in the back of the head whereas Reddit has terminal cancer at this point.
Yeah, I think Reddit just reached critical mass and was soured by politicking on the part of the admins. I remember when had a much smaller community feel, but that's long gone.

Same. I'm just tired of the whole reddit vs admins/ceo and sjw vs reactionaries
This site really feels like a more adult version of Reddit. Along with the more modern look and Xp instead of Karma.
