A Visual Guide to Eating Sushi in Japan
In Japan, sushi is more than a delicious meal—it’s a revered art form. The beverages are only to be consumed on restaurant premises. It has applied for drinks licences at just four branches so far, in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Blackpool, Hull and Bury St Edmunds. If granted, Burger King will be able to sell alcohol from 10am to 11pm seven days a week...

New San Francisco restaurant replaces humans with iPads
Those sick and tired of having to deal with their fellow humans all the time have a new respite – a fully automated restaurant in San Francisco. Step inside a restaurant where no one takes your order or serves you
I must admit that I fully expected to dislike Eatsa, a new restaurant slated to open next week in San Francisco with a sleek, 21st-century take on the famous Horn & Hardart Automat. In the late 1980s, when I was a summer intern in New York, working in the Daily News Building, the last remaining Horn & Hardart Automat was right around the corner. The cafeteria chain that operated in Philadelphia and New York was in its twilight then...

Robots Will Take Fast-Food Jobs, But Not Because of Minimum Wage Hikes
Since New York raised its minimum wage for fast food workers in July, there’s been a lot of talk about how the Fight for 15 would hurt low-income workers by destroying jobs and ruining lives. But in 2015 there’s a new angle to this that’s different than every other wage hike in American history that could be even more ruinous for fast-food workers: The possibility that restaurants can entirely replace them with a robot staff.

A Chick-fil-A owner shocked his employees in the best way after shutting down for renovations
Chick-fil-A owner Jeff Glover hugs an employee. A Chick-fil-A owner recently had to shut down his Austin, Texas, restaurant for five months for renovations. Instead of temporarily laying off his 50 workers, Jeff Glover shocked his staff by continuing to pay them during the entire five months the restaurant would be closed. Glover even gave them a $1-per-hour raise for sticking with him.
