On snapzu the downvotes are not for disagreeing but more a moderation tool see here in one of my previous Posts. Specifically this by /u/drunkenninja

If we can all agree that the down vote button is a "moderation tool" instead of a "I don't agree with your opinion tool" we will all be better off and it will promote a far better community experience where unpopular opinions are discussed and hashed out instead of downvoted into oblivion. It would make general interaction so much more interesting.

Well said ! There is nothing wrong with healthy discourse if it is done in civil and respectful manner. It's also what makes snapzu special and in my opinion is the most crucial thing we need to try and preserve at all cost especially with the recent influx of new users.

It is very much a matter of opinion in this case depending who's camp you reside in . Also this is more a call for Civility then Political Correctness

After reading trough this comment thread. I'd like to add something. Everybody here at snapzu is allowed his her or her opinion and they are most certainly allowed to back this up with his or her sources and start a healthy discourse on the matter at hand however we do expect this discourse to progress in a respectful manner. Please try and remain civil about things.

I concur Most of the newcomers seem to be adapting amazingly. We have however seen a influx in people trying to game or bot the xp system. But overall it's been pretty good.
