ISIS will be replaced by something else, and then something else. There always will be extremism, unfortunately. Indeed, eradicating ISIS is a noble cause and needs to be done, but it's not a means to an end more than bringing some form of status quo for a short time.

Freaking hell, once I think I grasped a little bit what quantum physics actually are all about, there is something like that I don't get at all and it makes me feel dumb.

The app market is by design extremely volatile. Basing your whole business model on apps (photo editing apps, in this case...) is risky as hell. When you look at it, most consistently successful applications are clients for popular websites (Facebook, Twitter), companion apps for services (Uber), or games. Those are things people won't abandon on a regular basis. Simple tools like photo editing will get an initial adoption wave, then will either disappear or maintain their userbase, both things that don't pull in any revenue - which is why so much apps switched to subscription models instead of one-time purchases.

I'm kind of on the edge on this one. I don't think X Games are the place for eSports (gaming definitely isn't an extreme sport, at all), but at the same time, the comment was so condescending...

Donations to a poor student who had to sell all his almost-no-gear and only has a nylon string guitar left would be appreciated. ;)

They want TV broadcast... How much traditional media exposure can eSports realisitically gain in 2016? I don't know how much it can really improve - we had our first eSports competition coverage this year on a sports network in Quebec (RDS), and there was already some resistance to the idea... Personally, I think that if darts and golf are covered by sports channels, so should video games at the professional level, but are people outside of the gamer community opened to the idea?

"It’s not just offline audiences we’re aiming for: television broadcasts, a higher standard of online production, a continued emphasis on competitive integrity—these are just some of the things you will see this year.” - Ulrich Schulze, Vice President of Pro Gaming

The algorithm seems to be actually pretty crappy. Didn't work for most people I know who tried it. Shaven, I look like I'm 18, and I maybe look my age when I keep the goatee.

Didn't work for me. I put in a good quality picture of me when I was 22 and it guessed 29. And I got an "ok" rating, while I'm clearly a 10/10.
Ok, that last part is a lie.

Linux won't take over anything desktop-wise as long as graphic drivers continue sucking hard, but manufacturers have no incentive to do so as long as the crowd is too small - kind of a Catch-22 situation over there. Trying to install Catalyst with my HD6870 always have been so much fun, and the open-source drivers don't cut it overall.

Has the Dutch always been so radically defending opposing opinions compared to most North American and European countries? While I applaud the act, I don't want to keep my hopes up too much if they are fairly known for their countercurrent measures. If that is true, this won't start a trend.
