Keurig CEO "We were wrong" Stock drops 10%
Remember when everyone wanted a Keurig machine? Those days might be over. Sales of Keurig brewing machines and accessories tumbled 23% in the first quarter compared to the prior year. The company had a lot of excuses, but the basic problem is there are too many Keurig machines in stores and people aren't buying them, especially the newest Keurig 2.0 model.

These idiots deserve it. How the hell do you have the balls to DRM friggen coffee. Next time, don't chase profits when you're doing well but instead focus on figuring out what it is you did that made you successful and work on that.
Sure they do...I've always just used a basic coffee maker where i put the grounds of my choice in the machine's cup. I see no reason to change.
Not only that but the amount of waste going straight to landfill from those cups is insane. The inventor of K-Cups (no longer owner of Keurig) regretted coming up with the idea (a source) for that reason.
I can sort of almost see the logic behind DRMing the cups. They sell the machines cheap and make money on the pods, similarly to how inkjet printers are sold. Don't get me wrong, I'm not denying that it was still incredibly stupid of them, but I can sort of see their line of reasoning.
My son bought one of those. We went to visit him last Thanksgiving and I was not impressed. I'll stick with my Folger's and Mr. Coffee.
Yeah, they are not great machines. They improved on the wrong things for the wrong reasons.
Great product ruined by greed.
