While I appreciate this as a symbol of support for women who want to both be professionally competitive and also mothers, I feel like it's an answer to the wrong question.
There are a lot of reasons why it's biologically more optimal to have children at a younger age aside from egg decay. Additionally, the interplay of age and biology aren't the only things that make it so difficult to realize professional ambitions and adequately have enough time to raise a family at once, for both genders.
Really, I think there needs to be a larger cultural change around the expectations of the work/life boundary. (I'm mostly speaking about American culture.) We should value people being fully-rounded and having time to be people as well as employees. There's so much you can discuss regarding this issue.

The fact that we're several days out and there hasn't been any r/announcement or r/blog post or ANYTHING public from ANY admin being like "yyyeah so that happened, let's talk about it" baffles me. Obviously it seems that there won't be one now, but the lack of transparency is such a turn-off.

I laughed, I cried, i badalalala'd. I love kids movies in general, but Big Hero 6 was really well done imo. Don't expect any innovation on typical tropes -- just expect them to be done in a really endearing way.

This is all super true. It's also partially because users self-select information sources on the internet, but at the same time, various content platforms and search engines which give the appearance of providing information neutrally actually tailor results to you. This, in combination with social factors like the article talks about, explains one of the beautiful/awful things about the internet: its enabling of fragmented groups to proliferate. On the one hand, it's awesome -- niche communities can thrive because people with unique interests can actually find each other and build communities. At the same time, it's really easy to get trapped in an echo chamber and not realize how far you've deviated from center.

This is such a good comparison for why I'm so wary of her actually getting the nomination. Yeah, she makes sense on paper, but similarly to Romney, she just feels so disconnected. I don't know a lot of people who feel motivated to emphatically vote for her aside from like, white feminists

My favorite thing about X-Files was always how it inverted the gender narratives. Mulder and Scully are classic foils — the skeptic and the "believer" — but Scully is rational, where Mulder is the one who's stigmatized as crazy. That having been said, maybe it's the resurgence of 90s beauty and fashion trends, but I don't read her as deliberately fashion-ignorant? She's not INTO fashion but she's not TOTALLY dowdy

I really wish there was more academic writing on fashion. I feel it's really underexplored as an art form.

My regular drink is a whiskey ginger ale. Ginger ale is actually kind of hydrating compared to other mixers, so I can drink them all night without feeling nauseous or having a terrible hangover. I'm a creature of habit
