Apple has been a one-man show since the beginning. With Steve Jobs gone, they've become again just another consumer electronics company, with little innovation to offer. This happened when he left, and is happening now, except they can't bring him back this time.

I have a 6 year old mac pro...and I am eyeing the IMac...I like the Mac environment for photo's. I hate to work on a notebook though. I will probably get the IMac, but probably not the notebook, though the connectivity would be nice to have

I feel like now’s as good a time to address it as any: Apple’s new MacBook Pro laptops are not designed for professional use.

This should come as no surprise to those who’ve long perceived the Mac platform as inward-looking, limited in compatibility, and generally worse value for money than comparable Windows And Linux, Yeah,we exist. alternatives.

I agree that it's a crock and I'd never ever use their products. They figure the more stuff they remove, the more $$$ they will make and screw the consumer. It never crossed their minds that people might disagree with their master plan.

At this point, MacOS offers little if any functionality over Ubuntu and you can get a fancy regular laptop at half the price of a MacBook. Unless you want to be snobbish I really don't see a purpose in buying a Mac...
