I posted my first snap in years this afternoon. I'll try to do so occasionally to see if there is much traffic.

Commented in What's up with Snapzu?

I just logged in for the first time in a few years. I think my account is 9-10 years old now! I was hoping snapzu would take off, but it never did. most of the posters in this comment thread were around when I originally created my account. When I logged on, the home page only had 2 links. Even a few years ago I could go to the website twice a day and see at least a full page of new content.

I deleted (completely nuked) my reddit account ~2 years ago and nothing has really replaced it. I've tried Bluesky, Minds, Mastodon, Lemmy, and a few others, and snapzu has been my favorite UI.

If one were to rewrite US law 'Justinian style' how would you start?

By Justinian style, I mean that he did not reform the existing law system.

I'm pretty sure you would have to start with a new Constitution. Where would you go from there? I guess it depends on what you write into your Constitution.

Is it even a topic worth considering?

So my older dog is presumed dead...

She's the one from the porcupine pictures in my post history.

My wife and I have been thinking of her a lot lately and thought I would let this be a place for other people to reminisce about their dogs.

For example, she loves(loved) to give kisses on the face. When she was young I started saying "Go for the jugular!" every time she would try to kiss someone's face. After a while, "Go for the jugular!" became the command for kissing someone's face. My younger (dumber) dog never caught on to this, even though she also tries to kiss your face at any opportunity.

Let's have this avenue for discussing the Panama Papers

In case you haven't heard, there was a HUGE information leak from a Panamanian law firm that specializes in setting up shell companies that may or may not be used for tax evasion purposes, money laundering, funding terrorism, human trafficking, and all sorts of bad stuff.

So far there have been a lot of big names that are implicated by this and the list will keep growing. There are over 11 MILLION documents for journalists to go through!

I'll keep checking back here periodically to get new information and let you guys know if I learn any new information.

Also, for some reason, there is almost zero coverage of this in American media for some reason...

Can Negative Thinking Make You Sick?

Option for tribe chiefs and moderators to add their tribes to a snap

I've noticed that when people snap a link, often one of the top comments will be "Can you add this to the /t/_______________?"

If it was possible for a tribe chief or moderator to do this themselves without re-snapping the content, I think that would focus discussion on the topic itself.

Let me know what you think!

    Fantasy Baseball

I am looking for people who may be interested in joining a free fantasy baseball league. It's going to be a casual environment. I would expect to spend 5-10 minutes a day updating rosters. I need email addresses for invites so you can post them here or PM them to me. You'll also need an ESPN login, which is free.

Opposition emerges to repeal of daylight saving time in Alaska

State Senate votes to end Alaska daylight saving time

The bill is more complicated than simply ending DST in Alaska. It would also allow for the SE 'panhandle' of Alaska to switch to the Pacific Time Zone.
