Honestly, it would most likely have nothing to do with a phone, but here goes the 3 things I would make sure it had:

    1. A powerful charger function to recharge phones and other gadgets, it would work for 20 min for a quarter and it can support up to 10 devices using an exterior slot/key so people can track of their gadgets and thieves can't steal em.
    2. Multiple modes of calling, specifically video calling using Skype and other popular apps. The booth would frost up the windows for privacy during the call.
    3. A digital mailbox that would allow to scan and send digitally signed copies of documents to anywhere.

If you're going to have it frost the windows for privacy during video chats, you should probably add a self-cleaning feature like some public restrooms have. People are people, after all.

Chargers - a great idea. Other convenient amenities could be: - Wi-fi - Public terminal with internet access (highlighting maps and transport schedules) - Printer, fax, scanner

I think that frosting the windows is not such a great idea, as it would attract people to use it for its privacy and anonymity.

It's got to be big enough for Superman to change in.

Futurama had one, but I think they called it a "suicide booth".

How did it work? Never watched Futurama.

You put in a quarter, selected one of two options, and waited. It was very simple!

A timing mechanism that physically ejects a person after being in it for X number of minutes if someone else is waiting to use it.

lol who are you kidding? Who is going to use a phone booth? There will be no line ups. If anything, drunk people will use it as a washroom after a night of drinking.

You put in 25 cents and it gives you directions to the nearest cell phone store for your carrier of choice.

Would lean towards making it have an open, wireless mesh network, so that devices could connect online through it. Electrical socket for charging, though anything "too advanced" like a USB system would become outdated, or easily vandalised. With probably a direct headset/button for emergency services, and would probably mirror what sort of systems metros in large cities follow, including fines. So pretty much a black box in a wall, that has an interface for emergency situations, and an electrical socket beneath. Anything else is going to get pissed on literally, and figuratively.
