Just wondering, how many people here came from Reddit?

Just a bit curious. I saw a reference to this site on Reddit, and decided to check it out.

This guy. A bunch of us came from an AskReddit thread. Seems like it got a little bit of hate, but I personally really enjoy the site. I love how its set up.

People hate on stuff they don't give a chance to understand. I'm guilty of doing it more often that I would like to admit.

I think that comes with the territory. Remember the Reddit vs Digg/9gag hate? Unfortunately as Snapzu grows bigger and bigger, there will be more hate from them.

        And probably vice versa

I hope it doesn't, but it probably will. And it will probably be people who came from reddit. People seem to feel the need to claim a website (Just look at the 4chan/Reddit drama). I don't know why people don't realize you can be a member on multiple websites....

Oh ya for sure not everyone, but there is those loyal few that love to troll. I'm talking like 0.1% of users. There isn't very many trolls here yet, but every time the site gets a spike in traffic I worry that there will be some assholes that come also.

You have a good reason to worry. It would suck for this place to turn into a troll fest.

My oldest reddit account is over 7 years old. I never go there anymore. My last post to reddit was 2 months ago. reddit has become digg. I tried to warn the admins about it but they were sure they had it under control. Add to that the positive feedback loop they got from their favorite mods and the site is just trash now with small pockets of sanity that are shrinking. I hope the admins of this site avoid the fate that the admins of reddit couldn't/wouldn't. And I really hope we don't get an influx of the trashier reddit elements just like reddit got an influx of diggers. The site really started going downhill faster than ever once digg migrated. Please let this site stay under reddit's radar a little longer until it's footing gets more firm. The admins of snapzu have the visuals down pat... no complaint there whatsoever. Their leadership is a little weak but their response time is pretty good so maybe it will work out after all. It completely depends upon them and a little bit of luck.

im hoping that the site will take off, i really like it. the layout isnt the most intuitive though, im always looking around for what i want.

Yeah, same here. The layout is lovely, but it's rather irritating to have to click on my tribes I'm a member of and go down each one of them one by one to look for new content. Looking forward to the day they manage to pull off a individualized homepage.

Hi! Were actually currently working on improving the feed (where you are when you log in). We will be expanding it to not only include your following users activity, but to also provide you new content (snaps and self posts) from your subscribed tribes and your own tribes, along with updates (comments and contributions) from your Snapzine (your pinned snaps). Thanks for your input!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Not wanting to sound too "judgy" about the place. You've done a superb job, I think.

While Reddit is the "super-smart-ugly-girl-neighbor", you're definitely the "awesomely-hot-with-a-little-lisp" neighbor across the street. I can overlook the limitations for all of the other awesomeness the site provides.

Haha, great analogy. I would only add that the "neighbor across the street" is quite new to the neighborhood, and is still getting settled in...

hopefully ill have some real constructive criticism eventually. so cool that the site is still small enough to talk to the admins.

edit: on the homepage consider moving the "show all tribes" button up near the "followers" & "folowing" buttons.

Very cool! When can we expect this update?

I'm from reddit too and I still use it, but this site seems more interesting.

I came from Reddit and still visit every once in a while but I like the "smallness" of the Snapzu community and how it seems like I'm talking to real people whereas Reddit seems like a bunch of creepy trolls! (from my limited experience with comment threads) Also I like the setup/appearance of Snapzu alot better than Reddit.

Exactly, being small is not always a bad thing. It feels more cozy and at least your word is heard here. I personally visit both, but only active here.

I did. All the trolling and women/gay/minority bashing, stupid meemes and mindless trolling really has got to me over the years. This site is far more attractive and I've not seen any obnoxious behavior so far.

And I really hope we don't get an influx of the trashier reddit elements

    Same here.

    "super-smart-ugly-girl-neighbor"

I see it as the super stupid ugly boy neighbor. See how it feels to have your gender insulted:? Not so nice, is it. Anyway,it's that kind of comment that causes me to hate Reddit.
