Traffic spike!
Hi everyone,
about 3 hours ago we started to experience an unexpected influx of heavy traffic to our service. It looks like we have been linked on a popular reddit thread. We have been doing everything we can to keep the site up, and have at this time temporarily disabled the front page grid layout. We hope to bring our regular functionality back shortly as the traffic dies down. Keep in mind that only the front page has been affected, all other internal pages are functioning as normal.
We apologize to everyone about the inconvenience!

Ditto. I'm enjoying the site for the most part thus far.
That's where I came from also. I was worried they'd get a giant reddit hug. I checked out a few of the other sites mentioned in that thread but this is the only site I've spent a significant amount of time on. Says a lot about Snapzu.

It's like reddit but with more polish and more buttons and omg everything looks new I must click it. I'm missing keyboard navigation so far, in particular the jkaz enter hotkeys from RES.

Do websites see this as a good thing or a bad thing? I mean I understand having an unintentional DDos attack is bad, but isnt the influx of traffic good?

Hi ho! I'm here as well from that link. Liking it so far! I'm worried that if I try to use both sites, it will be consumed with nearly identical content almost all the time.
They gave me an XP bar though, so i'm pretty much addicted already.

Snapzu is better than Reddit visually. Reddit is stuck in the past in terms of visual appeal. Once Snapzu gets the users and functionality that Reddit has, Reddit will probably slip away.
I think the internet is big enough for both Reddit and Snapzu to exist and flourish. I like both for different reasons.

I just logged in and refreshed the front page for twenty times. Nothing. Where is my grid layout? And then I found this. Oh, Well. Thanks Reddit.
Short term pain for a long term gain, perhaps? An influx of new users and new content drivers can't be a bad thing. Unless you know...it's a bad thing. I guess we'll see!

Came from Reddit in the famed traffic spike of 2014, still here after a week. I've found Snapzu really refreshing actually. I haven't seen a single meme all week despite having joined a wide variety of tribes and following a few people. Its almost like Reddit but with more adults. Great job Team Snapzu keep up the good work.

I'm from that reddit thread: Is there something as the RES for snapzu? with features to collapse all child comments etc...
There is a built in feature to collapse certain comments "tiers"... Its to the right of the "X comments" tab above. [Auto tier] [All] [1] [2] [3].. clicking those seem to filter what is being shown.
Still here after 1 month, and really liking the posts I see, informative and entertaining, and I don't spend as much time seeing cats on Reddit. Still luvin Snapzu.
