I was riding a friend's quad for the first time when I was 18 and managed to hit a hidden stream indentation on the dirt road that over-grown by grass so it was hard to see. Stupidly, I hit the brakes and as the quad hit the dried-out stream it flipped forward and I went flying off of it. I wasn't going more than about 20 km/h but I still did a flip and landed on my feet. I had a helmet but no other proper riding gear, just a shirt, shorts and flipflops. I quickly turned the quad over with the help of a friend riding behind me... yeah I guess this is just flat out luck, although, I was a beginner when it came to riding quads!
