Playing is still pain, even with WINE (It's slowly getting better tho). Tons of software have no linux equivalent (especially unpopular/discontinued ones).
Yes Linux is better than Windows in multiple aspects, but still not enough to make a lot of us switch permanently.
I agree with you on the reasons and on the recent progress that has been made. But last time I tried (2 maybe 3 years ago) even with the help of a regular Linux user, WINE wasn't very stable and the most recent game were extremely difficult to get them to run properly.
The main issue is here. This is way harder to game on Linux than windows.

Maybe not tons, but enough to prevent me to work (mechanical engineer).
