Yup. Linux user for 11 years and I can also do anything Windows can do as well. Microsoft still spews FUD at Linux on the one hand, while with the other, they use it to their advantage as needed.
Watch them pretend they invented virtual desktops in W10...Oh yeah.
Playing is still pain, even with WINE (It's slowly getting better tho). Tons of software have no linux equivalent (especially unpopular/discontinued ones).
Yes Linux is better than Windows in multiple aspects, but still not enough to make a lot of us switch permanently.
I agree with you on the reasons and on the recent progress that has been made. But last time I tried (2 maybe 3 years ago) even with the help of a regular Linux user, WINE wasn't very stable and the most recent game were extremely difficult to get them to run properly.
The main issue is here. This is way harder to game on Linux than windows.
Yeah, of course minor issues are to be expected but I was like you, I had to restore my Windows machine pretty frequently. I've never had this problem since making the switch.
It's true that back in the 90s MS used shady tactics to gain dominance with an inferior product, and that life would be easier if everything were Unix based, but I have to admit Windows 10 is extremely nice.
