Ugh, I'm with you on this. I have a 15" Discovery that sits in my garage. I'd love to set it up and see NGC 7789 again (amongst others), but my desire to do so is completely overshadowed by lack of time and the realization that the 're-learning' curve will completely suck up an observing session. I had even thought about building a small observatory, but finding time to do that.....
I read La celestina by Fernando de Rojas with a Spanish-French dictionary (French being my native language). I must have looked up 2 words out of three, but I made it! Just do it, It'll feel good that you stuck with it.
I'm planning to. I've started to work through the Harry Potter series in spanish. Honestly, I've heard the book is a masterpiece so I'd rather read it at an enjoyable pace.
A large collection of steam games. My laptop finally pooped out on me, so I'm mucking around game-less on a chromebook. Now I'm saving up for a proper gaming PC.
My Midi keyboard. About an octave of keys has died, and the others are slack rather than responsive. I used it all the time, but my warped justification for not replacing it is that music earns me no real money and so it's on the 'back burner', supplanted by written articles and such like.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy on Blu-ray. I refuse to watch the movies until I've read the books, and I have yet to find time to do so. Luckily I plan to listen to the audiobooks soon, right after I finish listening to The Hobbit (which is my third time through the book, but the first time listening to the audiobook).
Oh, I've already seen all of The Hobbit movies! And unlike a lot of people, I absolutely adored them all. The only part I wasn't thrilled with was Tauriel, not because she's a bad character, but because I felt like Peter Jackson was submitting to the typical "we have to have a romance for the movie to be a hit!" mindset.
Honestly, though this will be a REALLY unpopular opinion... I might enjoy the movies more than the book. As this is my third time through The Hobbit, but the first time after seeing the movies, I'd forgotten how... I'm not sure, unnoticed?... most of the dwarves went. While Peter Jackson might have strayed from the feeling of the book somewhat, I really enjoyed how he and the actors gave each dwarf their own very distinct personality and how the characters were almost more developed in the movies than in the book. The book concerns itself mostly with the story of the adventure itself, while the movies show us the adventures and give us a look at the characters that we didn't have before. I still love the book dearly, but I can't pretend to hate the movies even a little.
While I understand how you feel about Tauriel (and I am female myself so I'm not detached from the situation), I kind of dislike how she just has to fall for one of the dwarves. It sort of feels like she's just the token pretty (though badass) female character that exists to fall for one of the guys in the necessary romance plot that is shoehorned into every story. I'd have been happier with her addition to the story if she'd just been there to be badass, honestly.
I agree, the dwarves of the book are rather bland. Thorin has his kingly haughtiness about him, but the other dwarves don't really have personalities aside from "get the gold!" and "maybe Bilbo isn't so bad... when he's helpful." I didn't realize how much I came to love Bofur's hat and happy attitude, Bifur's "disability" (which was done so well that I'd completely forgotten it wasn't canon), Bombur's large cheerful self, Ori's (mostly) mild temperament, etc. until that pretty much all disappeared in the book. Even Thorin doesn't seem as kingly as when Richard Armitage plays him. In the book there's really very little to differentiate between the different dwarves, and I'm not even sure all of them had distinct roles; I can't think of any instances where Nori, Oin, or Gloin speak off the top of my head - I'm sure they probably did at some point, but it wasn't memorable to me.
Apart from the shit they pulled with the elves, the Hobbit movies were good. I just felt they could have done without a few scenes that both weren't in the book and didn't contribute to the plot.
My '41 Dodge WC. (military truck) Because it's in pieces and finding time to make progress is really tough right now. Someday though, been a dream of mine for too long.
My camera. There seems to be dust inside the camera, because every picture has this extremely annoying black dot in them and it doesn't go away even if I clean the objectives.
My 1930 Spartan cabinet radio - I restored it a few years ago because it belonged to my grandfather. If it wasn't his I'd have just scavenged it for parts and been done with it instead of the complete rebuild it needed. Recently the radio blew a 5Y4G tube and I can't find another one. I tried online but they arrived smashed >< so yeah I'm back to tube hunting! I'm tempted to rewire the socket to accept a more common tube (or two) or build a plug in work around box to use a series different common ass tubes and or transistors. I have a lot of tubes lying around but not the one I need figures.
My two rifles and my shotgun - it's not hunting season and I'm not an idiot. My guns are only for when I trek in the deep woods, high north or hunt. It's hanging out in its cabinet with my other hunting gear locked away until I go out hunting again.
Hunting is for delicious food not for trophies.
Guns are tools not toys and should only be used correctly.
Guns should always be properly stowed when not in use.
My Commodore Pet - It died so I took it apart and am using it as a case for a new computer! yeah I'm a nerd.
A Thorens TD 318 Mk II record player that I received free from my aunt since it had been missing the PSU for the past 10+ years or so. Previously I had an AV-receiver that had a phono amplifier. That receiver, however failed due to old age. Replaced the receiver with a brand new Yamaha that does not have a phono amp. One day I guess I might buy a separate phono amp for the record player.

My WiFi because Comcast "upgraded" me.
The original spanish version of "Don Quijote de la mancha". Why? Cause I am just not good enough in spanish to make any decent progress with the book.

My 60" LG plasma tv because it's at my brother's house until I move out of my parent's condo... sigh. The picture quality was 10 / 10.
I hear he just bought a nicely used Wii with Wii Motes without straps that he'll be hooking up to the TV real soon.

I got a really nice mountain bike that I haven't used in years.

My old record player. I can see it but I can't extract it from the clutter in the back room.
Hmmm
