You have to evacuate your home in 1 minute. What 3 items do you grab?

For me my laptop, dog, and my mini-safe. You?

    Cat. Cat. Laptop.

Thank god I don't have more than two cats.

We have three cats but two pairs of hands to manage them. However, from experience I know it will take far more than one minute to wrangle even one of them to safety. Cats who don't want to go with you have ways of enforcing their will.

Thankfully my cats are usually happy to be carried unless something else has their attention, and they know that when I scruff them they need to stop everything they're doing and stay still (unfortunately only one of them is light enough to still be safely carried by their scruff, albeit with a fair amount of discomfort) so as long as I know where they actually are I should be able to clear them out quickly.

Phone, laptop, file server (I'll probably die in the fire trying to save this)

This is why you always maintain offsite backups!

    depends on why we're evacuating.

Exactly. If I'm running away from something I'd take my bike, but if my house were on fire then I'd leave it and put in an insurance claim for a new one! Other than the financial loss I don't think there's anything in my house I'd be devastated if I lost.

yeah i mean if it was apocalypse where I can't return and the government is falling i wouldn't take my documents box (what good would it do in anarchy?) but i would grab it if my house was on fire or flooding.

did i know the thing had a possibility beforehand? i am the type who packs a suitcase cause i have kids so if i need to leave in a hurry i make sure i'm just grabbing a bag and leaving. Im the kind of person with a heap of contingency stuff in the boot of my car.

Backpack (has my work laptop and a few books in it), keys, and wallet. Phone is usually already on me and if it's not, oh well. Needed to upgrade anyways :P

I live in a dorm ( and the room is half the size of a normal dorm room), so I actually have a couple of duffel bags packed with clothing. So my most stuffed duffel bag, my regular messenger bag already filled with stuff I use everyday, and my shower bag.

Besides some documents, I got all my essentials to basically move again.

Wouldn't classify my pet as an item, but I would grab my dog, documents box and wallet... and if thats in my pocket already then my phone.

    wife, dog1, dog2

if those don't count as items, then wallet, BOB1, and BOB2.

we keep our keys in our vehicles, so I don't need to worry about those. Phones are easily replaced, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. where I live, the only reason I would need to evacuate in 1 minute is due to fire.

    3 things eh?

My dog - its my dog. Things can be replaced he can't.

My backpack - its old dating from 1939. It went to war with my gramps and has all kinds of neat and useful stuff in it.

My rifle wrap - It has some cool old stuff in it including an old lee Enfield, it again was my grandfathers.
