I figured it was metformin. People are giving it to their pets even. One of the side effects, however,is GI stuff. I have a quite delicate GI system and strongly suspect if I ever took it,it would beat my gut to a pulp and then some.
Sure the side effects include urgency, cramping, diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, heartburn, gas, tiredness, weakness, confusion, shaking, jitters, unusual muscle pain, headache, sweating, trouble breathing, vomiting, dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, irritability, slow irregular and racing heart rate, unusual sleepiness, and insatiable hunger, but hey, you’ll live forever!
With all that, even if you don't live longer, it sure will seem like it.
You got that right! And not in a good way.
That sounds like the list of side effects of pretty much every drug in the market. Actually many of them are worse.
It sure does and they sure are. The side effects often end up being worse than the disease you are trying to fix!. It would be ever so nice if they could create drugs where the side effects are not worse than the small effects the drugs themselves might or might not offer. (I'm looking at you evil statins!)
