This Farm of the Future Uses No Soil and 95% Less Water

As urban populations continue to rise, innovators are looking beyond traditional farming as a way to feed everyone while having less impact on our land and water resources. Vertical farming is one solution that's been implemented around the world.

    This is simply not feasible on a large scale. The water and light are free and 100% sustainable outdoors. Indoors? Heating, cooling, insect problems, light (produced by fossil fuels, and inefficiently at that). This will serve a niche market for fresh greens close to large cities where the rich can afford the price.
