There are no tasty alternatives and I don't see this as the end all study. It's yet another observational study. All such studies should be taken with the usual grain of salt.
Their alternative is 2 parts sodium chloride to one part potassium chloride. This is roughly the balance of NaCl to KCl in the body (I think) and tastes the same but is healthier. The reason they did the study in China is that in the parts they ran the study, people don't eat processed food, they cook all their own food so they could control their salt intake completely.
