I had a Spotify account, a barely-used free one, but still.
Now I'm in the process of getting it deleted. I do not want to be snooped on by a music service. All they should want from me is what music I listen to, and nothing more.
How does one go about the process of getting their account deleted? This article, along with some posts by other people, has me convinced to cancel my account (starting by uninstalling the app and things).
Btw, I'd advise anyone doing this to say why you want to delete your account. Perhaps that'll help reverse course on the privacy policy for other users.
Oh and don't forget what kind of personal details you filled in.
I got a security question from them to confirm my date of birth. Which I gave them. Wanted to say a whole lot more, but I decided against it. It's not this service rep's fault, just his company's.
Also having read Spotify's CEO explanatory words left a bad taste in my mouth. "Oops, we forgot to mention that it's all opt-in" seems a bit hollow, and left me wondering if he had done that if there'd been no big stink about it.

I had to Google this one, because it's not directly on Spotify's website. But here goes:
1) Log in to Spotify.
2) Go to this webpage: https://www.spotify.com/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-support/?contact
3) Fill out the form
4) Wait till one of their agents has done so.
There's sadly no other way.

Thanks so much! I have sent them an email explaining my reasoning.
