I play 5e with a few friends of mine. The system isn't nearly as crunchy as 3.5e or PF, but it's just so darn slick. Encounters are fast and fun, and it gives a lot more time outside of combat.

Consensus seems to be no, which is pretty disappointing. I do hope they continue to explore the possibility.

He should get plenty of attention. His base is growing significantly. Even the conservative sites have started reporting on his campaigning. That combined with the lack of other liberal prospective presidential hopefuls guarantees that it's only a matter of time before the media shines the spotlight on him.

You got to hand it to Christie - he just doesn't ever stop. I can't imagine him getting too far through the primaries, though. He's right in that compromise has become a dirty word, and I think that the other candidates will rip him apart for that. Compromise is good during the election, and bad during the primaries.

It will be interesting to see how the conservative field gets whittled down. My coworker is confident that Jeb will end up with the nomination. He might be right - I don't know who else could make it through the field and stand a chance at winning.

The picture really begs the question of what these monoliths are doing out here in the wilderness. Are they providing something to a far away place? Are they merely the top of something found deep underground? Do they serve some unknown alien purpose? You have to wonder what the guy in the foreground is thinking here.

Well, that's certainly interesting, but I can't see this as being something too practical. What would be the uses of something like this? I can't envision too many places where something like this would be more useful than, say, a hologram of the scene.

Necessity is the mother of invention. I think that's pretty natural: we do what's easiest until it's no longer a good idea. Maybe this can be a good way to start growing organic, pesticide free crops! We could solve a couple of problems all at the same time.

I read Prelude to Foundation a while ago. It wasn't nearly as good as the original trilogy, but was still a very solid book. Are the non-Asimov ones worth reading?

Also, I'm supposed to be reading Dune next, so stop giving me ideas.

I don't think I ever finished Dune. I'll have to give it another go after finishing the Foundation trilogy again.

I think the lack of conservative outrage is due to the fact that everyone is trying their best to ignore him.
