When I put together a list of organizations which can be reasonably trusted with around 2 billion in cash, Indiegogo isn't anywhere near that list. It's probably not on the second page, either.
That being said, I admire the attempt. But I can't help but believe that there's a better way for this to happen.

You're free to go to the organizers to suggest a more reliable organization. Maybe there is a better way, but this is the way they decided to try.
Can you imagine the commission indiegogo would get if the sum was reached? Damn.
