Neil deGrasse Tyson says it’s ‘very likely’ the universe is a simulation
Sometimes, physicists can get too up in their own heads. At the most recent Isaac Asimov Memorial Debate, recently held at New York’s Hayden Planetarium, scientists gathered to address the question for the year: Is the universe a computer simulation? It’s an older question that you might imagine, and if we interpret it a bit more broadly then it’s really one of the oldest questions imaginable: How do we know that reality is reality? And, if our universe were a big, elaborate lie, could we...

I don't think so...There is no way to prove it either way.
Actually, there's one, but nobody has figured out how to do it. If we're in a simulation, then the computing capacity of the universe is limited. If we were to find an instance of such limitation, that would prove it.
The mediocrity argument (explained in the article) is pretty compelling, though. If we admit that such a simulation is possible, the odds on being within one are arguably much higher. It's similar to the argument against Earth being the center of the universe.
