I've always been very much in favor of naturally sustainable lawns! I think that, in hot, dry environments, constantly watering a lawn just to have it eventually die in the heat is ridiculous. And anyone putting enough water into a lawn to keep it alive is disgustingly wasteful. I'm so glad that people are finally letting go of the conventional grassy lawn and moving in a more natural and sustainable direction.

I'm choosing to see this as strong evidence for the power of natural beauty.

I love jeopardy! I've found that the category and difficulty of the question are often just as important as the clue... so I usually destroy at most categories : )

I think that using the Boston Bombing Witch Hunt to justify your point is a bit extreme and a bad example. The people doing the witch hunting were not going to be dissuaded if a post about stopping been upvoted to the top. None of that was about up or downvotes. They made their own threads; they weren't open to discussion, and that was the problem. A sub-commnity had formed within reddit with new thresholds for what was deserving of up and downvotes. FallenWalnut has a really well laid out example of why the absence of downvotes wouldn't even have solved this problem. This was about individuals doing the wrong thing, not a failure of the voting system.
All you've done is reference a huge, terrible incident that, although it happened on reddit, has no weight in proving your specific point here.

I think that you might really enjoy The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman. It's YA, and I think it fits your interests pretty well. I'm not usually into darker things but I loved it! Here's the tag:
After the grisly murder of his entire family, a toddler wanders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of their own.
Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn't live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack—who has already killed Bod's family . . .

I'd recommend setting aside specific time for reading. Even better, go out or go for a walk and find a nice place to sit. If you don't need it, don't bring a phone. Just take your book and decide to read there. Start by reading something that you really think you'll like, or reread something you've loved in the past. Once I get into the swing of it, I've found it's much easier to keep going. It's just breaking into it that's really tough. You just need time and a good book. If you tell me what kind of things you like, I can try and offer suggestions for things that have really captivated me!

I think that, someday, thought controlled devices will be even better. Imagine just thinking instructions, or wanting a device to do something, and then it happening.
