    Do you like Neil Gaiman?

I haven't read any of his work. I'll admit I'm not the most 'educated' with books, for lack of a better term. I don't know of loads of authors, so I'll still trying to discover ones I like. I'm 18, most books I've read so far in my life were aimed at bit of a younger audience. But I've still read a fair number of others and want to expand on this.

I think that you might really enjoy The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman. It's YA, and I think it fits your interests pretty well. I'm not usually into darker things but I loved it! Here's the tag:

After the grisly murder of his entire family, a toddler wanders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of their own.

Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn't live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack—who has already killed Bod's family . . .

Thank you for this! It sounds really interesting and right up my street. I think I'll definitely pick this book up when I can.

I finally got The Graveyard Book last weekend, and after finishing reading a web serial I had started earlier in the year, I moved straight on to it. I absolutely loved it! I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Thank you for the recommendation, and I think it's safe to say that I have definitely got back into reading.
