As long as there is Islam, there will be Islamic terrorism. Abrahamic religions were created to conquer and control, not to be peaceful and charitable. If you think otherwise, read their religious books, and go ask their priests how it makes sense to build expensive luxurious churches with money that could help enormously to save the lives of poor children.
Religion is the single biggest obstacle to the progress of humankind. Nothing else comes even close. Without religion, we'd be centuries ahead.

All these idiots in cars and vans are one extra reason why I'm happy autonomous cars will soon roam the streets. This seems to be the terrorist tactic of choice since what happened in Nice.
It's an easily accessible weapon against a soft, virtually impossible to defend target. Physical barriers between vehicles and people is the only fix, self-driving cars are probably going to have overrides for a long time. Even fully autonomous cars will likely be hackable to override for human control.
I think I wan't off this planet.
