Yes reddit has been going downhill since long before Ellen Pao. I had never even heard of her until a few months ago but I've seen reddit's quality decline pretty heavily for about 4 years now. Even though I've found this awesome community on Snapzu, I'm pretty bummed that reddit has taken such a turn for the worse. After 7 years on reddit and several redditgifts exchanges I feel pretty invested in the site. I don't really want to just give up on it, but it's been at least 2 years since I've had a genuinely enlightening conversation there. At least a year since I've had any conversation there that didn't feel like a debate. I'm tired of every comment being dissected. I know a lot of people are just playing devil's advocate but sometimes you just want to share an experience or an opinion and discuss it with like minded (or open minded) people. I'm also pretty sick of the top comments thread always being puns. I LOVE puns. Love them. But I really don't need to wade through three dozen puns every time I want to read the comments.
