Although it would end up balancing out. Those who aren't happy with the income would leave the industry increasing the low income because theres less supply until those who stay are happy/willing to accept with the income they are earning and at the same time their lives won't be at risk every day.

I've never understood the criminalisation of drugs. If they were legal and you had to go to a hospital or mediclinic to buy them, then at least tou can ensure thise getting them are is a safe environment with access to care and can be informed constantly of the hazards. It woyld also mean that the money spent on those drugs can be taxed which would theoretically increase the amount of money available to use on the country's needs. Finally it would remove all the income from the criminal drug dealers. If the wanted to continue to deal they would have to go through the regulation channels which would mean it would be very difficult to continue their violent and harmful practices.
A similar argument can be made for legalising prostitution. The only people who benefit from these things being iligal are those whose job it is to catch the individuals breaking the law and those who are at the top of the iligal organisations making the money.

I haven't experience the negative responses so much as no responses generally. But I do tend to post in tribes that are fairly small :P
Sorry to hear that you have had bad experiences.

Is there a good free online source to learn African languages, similar to Duolingo?

I really believe that as the population grows and people feel more and more ontop of each other and resources become more scares, unless we find a plausible we of spreading our population outward (into space) we are going to be witness to a massive war/collapse of society. This scares me because I will either be forced into a terribleife of kill or be killed in some form of conscription or I'll be too old to fight and I'll have to sit back and watch as the future of humanity is decided by those younger than myself with weapons in their hands.

Algebra.
My mom is a high school maths teacher and she taught me the concept of algebra at a young age. This stuck out to me because I had a teacher in preparatory school who marked me wrong because I didn't use the method he showed us but instead I used algebra. The question was one of those "if Jane gets an amount of pocket money and her Margret sister gets double, and they get a total of R500 combined then how much money does Jane get?" I think we were just supposed to guess or something, I can't remember the method he wanted me to use but algebra was much much simpler. It's the one of the few times I saw my mother get pissed at one of my teacher hahaha

It's probably because text posts don't have a nice picture to add to the affect of the magazine view. :P

I paid for a phone app called Noom Coach. It has a really weird name but it has helped me loose 18.1 kg so far since I started using it about 5 months ago. Its primarily makes counting your calories a lot easier but has many little functions that all add up to what helped me loose my weight. :)

I have had a few moments when I got a couple notifications in one go saying people were following me. I then checked non of my posts or comments had even increased in likes let alone received a comment. For some reason I find that a little strange. Like these follwers just appeared out of nowhere haha :P

I understand the idea that the members are readers and not writers, but wouldn't they then be the ones posting the prompts with hopes to see what the writers would create? My point was that surely when joining such a tribe you expect to either be a prompter or be a writer or both. On a site as small as Snapzu, being a lurker makes no sense. What I found kind of amusing, was that I posted a promise saying that I would respond to at least 1 or 2 prompts per weekend in /t/writingprompts. This resulted in my post being liked...but no prompts to respond to when this weekend rolled by hahaha
It seems though that the consensus here seems to be that Snapzu may not be ready for tribes like the ones I have mentioned. It's sad but maybe that is just the truth of it. However I don't plan on giving up just yet as I would rather like certain tribes to take haha.

Oh I completely agree that Snapzu is its own thing and has awesome aspects that allow it potential for things other sites don't have. I guess for that reason, because I enjoy being on Snapzu so much, I had simply hoped these tribes would find their footing here so I could simply stay here :P it seems at least from comments so far that the consensus is that maybe, at least for now, snapzu may not be ready for tribes such as the ones I mentioned above.
One thing I noticed since posting this thread though, keeping in mind it may be due to the fact I'm usually on my phone, is that when I open a snap from say the front page or my following page, it doesn't tell me what tribes it was posted in. So short of following the poster I wouldn't know where to go find similar content. But I'm pretty sure that's just because I'm on my phone. ....or being blind :P

Someone once explained it to me like this. They said, movies, especially the top level movies are really expensive to make. So you need to find someone willing to invest all that money in your movie. When assesing these investment, they have to consider that it has become clear that remakes and certain types of movies will almost gaurentee viewers and thus profit from the investment due to its existing fan base, also with the popularity of things like neflix there is a lot of competition to the movie industry. So not only are they considering the issue of the higher risk of not making their money back due to the new idea not taking, but they are making these decisions in a pressure environment where they have very strong competition. The result is that the only way to get a high budget original movie made is to have it proposed by a big name director or actor or something that will lower the risk of loses.
I too wish there were more original stuff being produced (and in the series world there seems to be some great stuff happening) but I can see why the movie industry loves remakes and sequels.

I'm a little saddened that there were no new prompts this weekend for me to respond to as per my promise in this post. Hopefully there will be a couple next week. If there is even one prompt, it doesnt matter how silly (although a thoughtful one would be appreciated :P), I will attempt to write about it. Otherwise I will make an attempt on the music album :D
