It's absolutely amazing that these things are animals. That hardiness is usually characteristic of bacteria, but nope, tardigrades are bona fide Kingdom Animalia. That's insane.

Absolutely, not until you look. But anything that survived such long periods of extreme temperature would probably be very simple and hardy.
