I'm a big fan of the B2P method a la GW2 and The Secret World and just paying for expansions as they come out. I don't mind a sub fee if there is good regular content, right now I'm playing FFXIV:ARR and have no problem with subbing to the game just due to the amount of content updates and the reasonably priced expansion. I would even pay for EVE again if I were to re-start playing just because I feel the value for money is there. My WoW sub lapsed not long after WoD launch because I felt the value for money wasn't there anymore and the upfront price of the expansion as well left me a bit jaded. F2P with a cash shop I just can't stand for some reason, I tend to find the gameplay becomes hindered at a certain point forcing you to end up subbing or using the cash shop. I must admit though that my experience with F2P mmos is pretty limited.

That's absolutely crazy that they have been going at this for 3 years now, didn't realise that.
you don't want to lose the money they pay your campaign.
That is so much the problem, I'm from the UK so this stuff isn't nearly as big as it in the US although does play a part. I'd hope the UK or EU would be able to set some regulations for if/when these dashboards start cropping up over here, but this type of stuff should be international. You're spot on with the seatbelt point, if this tech ends up in distracted drivers crashing and killing people then it's not acceptable at all.

Yeah that would be good being able to use whatever when parked up. Jeez that is crazy I couldn't imagine typing something into Spotify to find it, couldn't take my eyes of the road for that long! I drive about 2 1/2 hours a day in my general commute to and from work and it is worrying just how many people you spot on their phones or reading something on them. Another thing is just how little regulation is for this type of stuff at the moment. Doesn't seem to be any real restrictions or guidelines at all, definitely think it needs some good in depth research doing on what should and shouldn't be possible when driving.

I've just recently found out about Dan Carlin's - Hardcore History podcast series which is currently keeping me company on my daily commute. Really recommend this to any history fan this stuff is amazing.
Normally though I have just morning radio on while I drive to work in the mornings, most of the time it's news and some current top 40 stuff. Driving home I'm all about a good playlist on Spotify, my tastes are a bit erratic going from hard rock to classical to cheesy pop, you name it I'll listen to it. Whatever I feel like when I get out of work I load up a playlist and go wild!

Hey there RoMS! Love the Fallout series myself as well (thanks for linking to the tribe I'd forgotten to join that!) I imagine you're pretty hyped for Fallout 4? Shameless plug for one of my favourite shows but you should check out The 100, which is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth where the survivors of a nuclear war were sent to space and then they send 100 kids down after so many years to check if it's inhabitable or not. I have to say stick with it after the first 5 episodes which are a bit cheesy and tweeny. After that it really gets good and season 2 is pretty fantastic throughout. You do have to suspend your belief a little as well, there are a few wild assumptions science wise and a couple far fetched explanations for some stuff, but generally a pretty entertaining show. I know season 1 if on Netflix not sure if 2 is up there yet. There is a tribe, /t/the100, but it's not that active just yet.
Anyway welcome and enjoy the stay!

I can see this being a tricky thing to deal with. Nowadays with the amount of people I see on their smartphones while driving having a dashboard with some functionality could lessen this, but then you face the problem of people being distracted by the dashboard instead. Things like the article mentioned like the A3 linking to twitter and what not I see as a huge problem. I only use Spotify in my car but luckily I can use the steering wheel buttons to skip/play/pause etc. so I'm not really distracted by my phone whilst driving. I think at most music and mapping features would be ok to navigate without being too big a problem. I can only imagine the chaos of being able to use social media while they drive.

Top left for me. I don't believe and doubt I ever will, but I can't say for sure that a god doesn't exist.

God that is so oddly satisfying. I didn't think that those cables would annoy me so much!

Hey there! Weather can't make it's mind up here in the Midlands - Rain then heavy rain then sunshine and now I've got sunshine and a nice strong wind, which looks to be bringing more rain. Got to love this English weather!

This show is amazing and holds a special place in my heart. Me and my now fiancee then girlfriend started watching this together back when we were 16, always on the phone during the ad breaks to talk about what we had just watched and to explain anything we didn't get to each other. It was also the first time I'd ever got into watching a show where I had to wait a week between episodes. Definitely got me hooked onto the whole idea, LOST was my gateway drug for TV shows! I was so hooked on this show I wouldn't shut up about it to the point all my friends ended up watching it to, and of course getting just as hooked. I definitely need to do a re-watch, might have to speak to the mrs and see if she's up for it.

Hey and welcome. I've also recently joined Snapzu after similarly lurking on Reddit for a few years. What I've found different so far is how this community is free from a lot of the Reddit drama/hive mind. Downvotes seem to be used sparingly and only really seem to be for trolling/spam/abuse rather than just posting a comment that is not popular or the current trend of thinking. Each tribe I've read through/joined seems to be a tight nit community of people, it seems like it'll be easy to get to know people here if you end up sticking around.
Here are some tribes you may want to check out /t/gaming, /t/harrypotter, /t/atheism, /t/philosophy, /t/gameofthrones for everything show related & /t/asoiaf for all your book related needs. I would definitely also look around and get involved, maybe browse the all section by new, there are lots of cool tribes being started and already established but you could check out /t/newtribes to see if anything you're interested in has been set up recently. Everyone seems really friendly and genuine so far with a lot of good discussion going around.

Pretty age old one but mine is, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." So many things/people I've been surprised by after making an initial snap judgement that I try not to do it anymore.
