So as you know I was busy with my old Madre through most of July. So now It is GISHWHES week which is keeping me busy! We are talking rapping about pirates, singing drunk songs, sewing monkey hats out of socks, drawing Picasso pictures of actors, re-purposing artichokes, and jogging in shoes made of pineapples. And also a visit to an old folks home to spread cheer as a pirate (if they let me in the door). The list is long and varied and the 15 of us will never be able to finish everything. I am up to my ears in mayhem. On top of that I am happy to say the First Tn Pirate Festival is about read to go (October 7,8,9 [crossing fingers]). So I am sorry I am still away but my plate is full of zany. I had hoped I could share some GISHWHES videos and pictures with you but GISHWHES management says that we can't share them with the public until the contest is over. But I will share as soon as I am able. Oh yeah, work sucks.

As if you haven't noticed, I have been on Summer Vacation. So not alot of activity on snapzu recently. Actually my mother has been down here living with us for the past month. She's a hoot. Imagine a woman who raised 5 boys, was a insurance/banking software qa analyst, retired to talk care of retired Iditarod dogs and train kids and adults to run dogs sled, lost almost everything in the last stock market fall, then had to have brain surgery, then went through her husbands death 1 year later, then decided to work up in a dog sled camp that in the deep wilds (with not electricity or Internet gasp), then decided to work in a juvenile prison system teaching kids math. So I do pale in comparison to all her accomplishments. I mean, what the hell have I done with my life? We have been ripping up TN and the neighborhing states while we have the time. But she has also inspired to start taking more chances and to come out of my shell, I am such an introvert. I am refreshed and ready to go.

I am sure you all heard the news coming out of France. It seems that the world is turning upside-down with everything that has happened over the last few weeks. Police and civilian shootings in the US, continued terror attacks in the Middle East, and now an attack in Nice. It sometimes just takes one or two crazy people to make us think that the world has turned to shit and there is no hope. As things turn dark remember that there are millions of people who do care and who actually work everyday to make the world a better place. We have the numbers on our side even though it does not seem that way. As for me and the crew tonight we stand with France to show that we dissuaded from the path of peace!
