AAA says 75% of drivers are scared of self-driving cars
Automakers and tech companies are working hard to offer the first true self-driving car, but 75% of drivers say they wouldn’t feel safe in such a vehicle.

I imagine you wouldn't if you were the kind of driver who likes to tailgate and engage in other unpredictable behavior that tend to cause accidents. The vast majority of accidents involving self-driving cars were the fault of the human drivers; the automated cars were following traffic laws as programmed.
That's the hard part self driving cars have and will continue to have for a long time. They can't predict erratic human behavior.
One possible solution to this might be segregated lanes. One lane for self-driving cars and the rest for human drivers. I can't speak to how feasible that will be, though.
Lane that thinks like you, left or right , or is left right or right wrong and left is right. Simple.
