Am I the only one with the impression that this was always the case?
I mean, the weird, socially-inept scientist/STEM person that everyone keeps around was a media trope because they were understood to be the exception to having a good position in the workplace, not the rule.
Hasn't it always been that the fast talker who shook the right hands got ahead? Yeah, the entry level requirements are higher than ever, but game is generally the same.
