For me it was multiple reasons but the two most prominent were the horrible conditions used when raising animals for slaughter and the health benefits of having more greens (and other alternatives) in my diet. The second was important to me because before the switch there were hardly any fruits and vegetables in my diet but after I started feeling better (both physically and mentally). Overall becoming a vegetarian also made me want to avoid fast/unhealthy food in total (although I do cheat every once in a while)
I have only recently become vegetarian and one of my main reasons was the treatment of animals as well. Factory farms are just barbaric don't know why people think its ok :( I am a fussy eater though so eating more vegetables and fruits is going to be a little bit of a challenge. How long have you been vegetarian if you dont mind me asking?
Not very long, only a couple of months. I started after Thanksgiving last year but I wasn't very strict with my diet in the beginning. Instead of just removing meat at one moment I sort of edged out of it by limiting how much I ate. This helped a lot when I had sudden cravings (I had failed a couple of times in the past when becoming vegetarian and knew that the first weeks were the hardest). I don't remember exactly the moment but I am certain I haven't had meat since New Years
I've always had a tendency to choose veggies over meat, and it was three years ago when I finally snapped and decided that enough was enough.
I was tasked with cutting a raw chunk of beef for the barbecue, and that was when it hit me... The smell, and all the blood in my hands simply left me in shock (I was not able to eat that evening). That experience, plus the fact that I've always been an animal lover made me make the best decision that I could've ever hoped to make!
Now it's been three years and I couldn't be happier. I've felt great, have tons more energy and my body thanks me every day! And I guess you could say that I've also been very slowly leaning towards veganism!
A coworker made something at work and was pushing me to eat it when I wasn't hungry. I eventually lied and said "I'm actually a vegetarian". She ended up telling everyone else I work with that I'm a vegetarian so I had to become a vegetarian.
I have went vegetarian once and mine was because of just not wanting all this nasty meat settling in my stomach, everything is so processed and last so long. Just didn't set right with me. I am currently looking to go back... I moved back to Texas and it has been harder here than where I previously lived!

What is yours, if you are one, if you don't mind me asking?
