+3 +1Sony confirms God of War 5 will also be set in Norse mythology
As we gear up for the PS4 release of the new God of War on April 20, Sony has confirmed to finder that we can expect more snow-filled action from Kratos in the future. For thirteen years now, we’ve been very happily ripping apart the heads off mythological beasts as the muscular God-hater Kratos. However, until this year, the setting has been that of Greek mythology.

+1 +1Mystery egg fuels ‘Spyro’ remake rumors
Spyro the Dragon has been rumored to receive the remake treatment, like its brother-in-arms Crash Bandicoot. While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, a strange package delivered to the Newsweek offices has us thinking a proper announcement is right around the corner. The plain, white box included a return address label listing the sender as Falcon McBob. Seeing as how I don’t know anyone from the McBob family, I was a little hesitant to open the box. There was also a strong odor of farmland emanating from it, so this was a strange one.

+6 +1Moss review - PlayStation VR's finest game to date
Set in an enchanting, storybook world, Moss is an interactive fairytale of grand adventure, bravery and friendship. Now, that might sound like the blurb from every fantasy game you've ever played, but Moss is different. This is a game that oozes charm from its every pore, and from the very first moment that you're introduced to protagonist Quill, a tiny mouse with a big personality, you can tell that you're about to play something very, very special indeed.

+17 +2The question of fidelity and Shadow of the Colossus
As someone who spends much of their time with games thinking about and photographing their spaces, architecture and worlds, I often forget that these are spaces we never truly enter. While our minds might seem to wander past the screen, it's a hard border for us, one we can never pass. In truth it seems that game spaces aren't true spaces at all, but images of spaces, presented at the steady clip of 30 or 60 frames per second. Why does this matter?

+12 +4What Remains of Edith Finch PS4 Physical Edition
Though widely considered to be one of the best games of 2017, What Remains of Edith Finch is anything but overt. It’s subtlety is its real charm, comprised of strange and otherworldly vignettes about a cursed family from Washington State. Playing as Edith, you’ll explore the colossal and cavernous Finch house, in an attempt to uncover why you’re the last one in the family who is still alive. A true opus, from developer Giant Sparrow (The Unfinished Swan), this is an elegant and essential addition to any PS4 physical library.

+8 +2Horizon: The Frozen Wilds is an unmissable tech showcase
Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds is an expansion for one of the year's best games in just about every sense of the word. This isn't just more of the same - from a technological standpoint, it's a genuine effort to push on to even greater heights, and an impressive evolution of Guerrilla Games' peerless Decima Engine. Pushing beyond the forests and great plains of the original experience, The Frozen Wilds invites players to the northern-most region of the map to explore snow-covered fields and steep mountains.

+20 +4A PlayStation 4 feature we'd love Xbox to copy
The way Sony allows downloads of some games is really good and I wish Microsoft would do the same. As we've moved into a more digital-driven world when it comes to delivering games to consoles, we're left with the always unpleasant wait for the download and install to complete. Especially now we're in a world with the Xbox One X with its inflated file sizes thanks to enhanced assets, even with decent broadband you can't just jump in and play.

It's going to be quite a while before we see a new PlayStation or Xbox console, according to Assassin's Creed Origins and Rainbow Six Siege publisher Ubisoft. In an investors' call, CEO Yves Guillemot stated the company believes the next major consoles are "a minimum of two years" away. "As Sony launched PlayStation 4 Pro last year and Microsoft Xbox One X this year, we think we still have a minimum of two years in front of us before something new is coming," Guillemot stated. "But that's our perception, we don't have any confidential information on that front."

+9 +3“We trust in our creators,” says Sony after revealing new levels of PlayStation violence
Sony has said that it has faith in its development teams while making games that feature extremely violent and mature content. Speaking to VG247 today in Paris, Sony said that it’s PlayStation’s responsibility to ensure all content is handled and marketed responsibly. Sony showed two shocking videos during its Paris Games Week press conference last night that left many in the live audience stunned at the levels of violence and misery portrayed in an otherwise barnstorming show.
