+15 +4The Forest (PS4) Review
They are closing in, their numbers growing greater every day. The outlook is bleak for my survival. Therefore, the only option I have left is to just accept it and make chairs out of human bones and craft a totally vain zipline that does nothing. This has been the majority of my time with The Forest on PS4, role-playing a less dramatic version of Will Smith in I Am Legend and completely overlooking the fact that my protagonist’s son has been kidnapped — I’m sure he will be fine.

+15 +2PS4 Users Are Claiming That Malicious Messages Are Breaking Their Consoles
PlayStation 4 users are claiming that they are receiving messages that are preventing them from using their consoles. In several threads on the r/PS4 Reddit board, users are reporting that they are receiving messages through the console’s messaging application that are hard locking their consoles. The stories all follow a similar pattern: users receive a message, their controllers and sound outputs fail, and resetting the console results in continual error loops.

+9 +2November PlayStation Plus games include Bulletstorm, Yakuza Kiwami
Earlier than usual, Sony has confirmed the PlayStation 4 games to be given away next month via PlayStation Plus. In November, Plus subscribers will be able to nab downloads of Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition and Yakuza Kiwami - not a bad selection. PlayStation Plus games are normally unveiled later in the preceding month - but the selection is being advertised already on PlayStation.com (as spotted by Nibel).

+12 +2Marvel's 'Spider-Man' for PlayStation 4 swings to a record-breaking opening
Spider-Man mania is back. The popular comic-book superhero's recent resurgence has expanded beyond cinemas and into the world of video games, with the wallcrawler's latest self-titled game selling a record 3.3 million copies in the first three days of its release earlier this month. While Sony did not provide an official number, with a retail price of $59.99 for the game the 3.3 million copies translates to roughly $198 million, crushing the $117 million opening weekend box office of the latest solo Spider-Man film, "Spider-Man: Homecoming."

A much-requested feature has finally been added to Android Pie: controller mapping for the Sony PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4. The PlayStation 4 is the most popular current-generation game console on the market, so it’s no surprise there’s a lot of people out there with DualShock 4 controllers who want to use them to play mobile games on Android. The problem with using your PlayStation 4 controller on Android is that the key mapping may not be available on your device.

+12 +3Sony says you can't have cross-play because PlayStation is the best
Sony doesn't want you to play with your Xbox or Switch friends, I argued last June. We've known since 2016 that Sony is the only company standing in the way of buddies being able to team up across PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, since there's no technological limitation. And though Sony has since been shown up by Microsoft and Nintendo, and though Sony enraged the Fortnite community, and though Fallout developer Bethesda has badmouthed Sony about cross-play and threatened to hold another game hostage, and even though PlayStation America CEO Shawn Layden suggested...

+4 +1Peter Parker Is Spider-Man on PS4's Greatest Strength
If you show a picture of Marvel’s Spider-Man to someone for the first time, they’re likely to notice one thing: the suit. Insomniac has created a brand-new look for Spider-Man that’s entirely unique but immediately recognizable, its own spin on a hero we’ve been following for decades.

+11 +2If you're not careful this force feedback mod 'will almost rip the controller out of your hands'
Maybe you have a new 4K TV for gaming and a nice surround sound system too, but it still feels like there's something missing? You'll notice it the next time you get blown up in a shooter, or crash into a wall in a racer - despite your immaculate setup everywhere else, there just isn't enough rumble. Sure, you could crank up the bass until your whole home shakes, but why not take the direct approach and wire an industrial-strength motor into your controller?
