While I do not personally know anyone with DID, some think it manifests in victims of severe and sustained trauma as a coping mechanism. Since DID sufferers would likely have experienced some form of PTSD, there is an increased likelihood of readers having psychological triggers - the real kind, not the "someone disagreed with me on Tumblr" variety.

It is estimated that 1 in 10,000 people have DID. Yet, if you go on Tumblr it seems like 1 in 3.
I find it fascinating. Are you saying that Tumblr is exaggerating regarding this matter?
Yeah, Unless people with DID love tumblr for some reason. I can't stand it.
