I was really impressed by the concept of Stargate Universe, where the ship they were on would delve into stars to accumulate energy to travel between galaxies.
Not to nitpick too much, but it was just traveling between solar systems. How long it lasted depended on what else the ship was doing.

Sorry, you may be right. It's been a while since I watched the series. I was gutted that it was cut off when it finally became interesting.
