Hello Snapzu.

My name is Michael, and I'm always on the lookout for new ways to stay connected. I'm an author, so I spend 90% of my waking time sequestered away writing in my cave, causing me to grow isolated and weird(er). I do my best to get out and actually interact with others in an attempt to stave off my inevitable descent into hermitude, but in between ventures into the Outside I like to pretend like I'm participating in the real world through the magic of the Internet.

I look forward to seeing what Snapzu has to offer.

Welcome. Congratulations on actually getting writing done; for me, I feel like about half my time spent "writing" is actually me doing a lot of backspacing, staring at my screen, or closing tabs of distractions over and over again as I remind myself that I should be writing.

My secret is that I have no safety net or security about whether or not I can pay the rent if I don't publish regularly. Terror is a wonderful motivator!

That would be motivating. Right now I just write for spending money, so it's a lot easier to say, "no lattes this month!" than "no electricity this month!"

Hello! Welcome to the Denver International Airport. Please do not leave your bags unattended. ¡Hola! Bienvenidos al Aeropuerto Internacional de Denver. Por favor no deje su equipaje desatendido.

Er, um, I mean... Hi! Glad you found us. Will you post any of your own writing, do you suppose, at some point?

Do you need a pencil to fill out your customs declaration form?

Welcome! What do you like writing about?

Oh, you know. Identity, the persistence of memory, the nature of reality, class warfare, dragons both literal and metaphoric, steampunk automatons, the inexorable future, the past that never was.

      Just stuff.

If you have any insight on steampunk I would love to read it or hear it. I have a quest to learn about the culture this year and I am taking Snapzu along for the ride.

Last year I had a weekly podcast called "That Which is Known" which tackled various topics from my books, and one of the first episodes was "What is steampunk?" which covered its origins and development into a maker culture.

I stopped doing the podcast after 30 or so episodes because I didn't have the time for it anymore, but I did upload the first few episodes onto YouTube. One of the first was "What is Steampunk?" covering its origins, development, and the growth of steampunk's maker culture. Professor Elemental, noted chap hop musician, even let me use an intro from one of his songs.

Here's a link to the video.

            ASWESOME!!!!!
If you want you can dump anything like this over into the steampunk tribe. We love to learn.
