I can already tell you first hand that people today were whoring for stars. This program is perfect for defining the "in groups" in the workplace, they readily give each other stars and jump for joy when they get one. I am not in an "in group" because, well, I am me. So the possibility of this app to define good workers already failed before it started. And that is kind of my point. It rates peers on a social curve, not on a business/project/work curve. So the merit system in this app is basically a "Who is liked better" system. I for one have spent the last 6 years pissing people off and not really caring. Now I suppose I could start caring but that seems like to much of a hassle. I would have to talk to people in a kind fashion, I can no longer yell at my manager or director. That just seems like to much work. So my first thought is to screw with the system.
So I was wondering today if other companies use apps like this also? Is it going to be the new norm? I hope not. But everything is based off of being "Social" ,and not the me and my buddies get together drink rum and sing type of social either. Its the "Social" where you always have to watch your step.
