The Death of Golf
It's expensive, difficult, and demands the kind of time most people get only when they go on vacation — or retire. From the dried up fairways of Southern California to the vacant course-side condos on the Carolina coast, we survey the sport's demise — and the entrepreneurs hoping to reinvent it for a new, less patient generation.

Why Towns Are Falling In Love With Golf Carts
One of the promotional videos for The Villages, Central Florida’s city of the old, is all about golf carts. The Death Of Tiger Woods
I remember the moment vividly. I was waiting in my mom’s car outside the veterinarian clinic — another appointment for our ailing dog. The Breaking News sounder came on the radio, and instantly, I knew this was different. It wasn’t a local athlete being busted for drugs. It wasn’t a season-derailing injury. This, it turns out, was the end of the one of the most dominant dynasties we had ever, and may ever, witness. Tiger Woods, in his prime at just 33 years of age, was done.

Jordan Spieth had to put the green jacket on Danny Willett and it was painfully awkward
Credit to Jordan Spieth, because I’m almost certain that 22-year-old Luke Kerr-Dineen wouldn’t have handled this heart-wrenching loss with half as much class. But after swallowing the loss, Spieth walked off the 18th green and regrouped admirably. Then, as his Masters tradition, he had to place the green jacket onto Willett in the Butler Cabin ceremony. It was enough to make anyone cringe. “I can’t think of anybody else who may have had a tougher ceremony to experience,”...

But one day Stapff found himself bored and near a golf course. He whacked a few balls.Stapff left the course underwhelmed.
