I just don't have $40-$50 for 18 holes, plus a cart fee and on top of that clubs, maintaining proper clubs, ball replacements, tees... it's truly a nickle and dime game. On top of that you need several hours to play, especially if you suck... I used to love this in my younger days, now it's a hassle and I'm not down for the costs.
Precisely. These days, I will hunt down random 9-hole courses in the middle of nowhere and just rent really horrible clubs. If I'm going to pay to suck, it's going to be economical!
