There are already plenty of individual games'/series tribes such as Skyrim, Minecraft, Final Fantasy, Everquest and I'm sure many more out there. The purpose is to help them grow, not split them up.
But that's exactly the point. People can send snaps to multiple Tribes, so why not send a Skyrim-related Snap to /skyrim and /gaming? It helps /skyrim grow and the communities don't split.
I'm already doing this with /t/elitedangerous, still, having a sidebar link or a sticky post with links could help a lot. Of course, linking to EVERY tribe out there could be a helluva task.
The best long term solution would be putting pressure on /u/teamsnapzu to include a wiki, this way /t/gaming would only need to keep a link to the wiki, links to individual tribes would then be added by the chiefs.
Because some stuff that gets posted to both might not get as much traction in the larger tribe, where it may reach the top of the other tribe. The up votes are tied specifically to the tribe it was voted up in. Plus with the help of larger tribes it will help smaller more fan driven tribes grow, which in turn produces content for both and encourages growth for both.
That isn't how Snapzu works though, is it? You're a part of the community if the tribe you're following is added to a snap. If /t/gaming is added to every snap of /t/somegame, then nothing has changed.
I take a screenshot of skyrim and put some text on it, I go to /t/skyrim and post it, crossing it to /t/gaming as well. What's likely to happen is that in Skyrim it will get viewed and appreciated by a larger audience, in /t/gaming, it will get viewed by a larger audience but appreciated by fewer. But this is really just over analyzing. Specific tribes exist for the purpose of being specific for when you want to browse them, big tribes are for when you want to browse the bigger picture.
