Steam Summer Sale aftermath

Now that the Steam Summer Sale is over, it's a good time to look back at all the money we spent. So, what did you get? I bought myself Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, along with Torchlight 2 (tight budget!).

    I went and picked up town of salem and it has to be the best $3 that I have spent. The multiplayer is great and I really enjoy the games on there

      Seems like a pretty cool game to play with a bunch of friends. I might pick it up during the summer.

    Went a little crazy this time around.

    * The Talos Principle

    * Serious Sam HD: SE Non-pre (US)

    * Serious Sam HD (US)

    * Fallout New Vegas Ultimate

    * J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars

    * This War of Mine

    * Homesick

    * Fallout 3 - Game of the Year

    * Fallout Classic Collection

    overall, I think I've been happiest with The Talos Principle. Think of it as 'another Portal game'. Super fun first-person puzzle game with a big philosophical bent and amazing graphics. Really happy with that one.

      Talos is so good! I think too many people discard it as a Portal clone, but it very much is its own thing. And it's so much more than just a puzzle game, the most interesting part is the story and presentation, not even the puzzles, as good as they are.

      J.U.L.I.A. is cool too, a flawed game, but I liked it quite a bit. I hope it sold well enough, for developers to make another adventure game.

        Yeah, Talos is something special. I think comparing Talos to a 'Portal clone' is probably disingenuous of me. It's really a super game that stands on it's own. The mechanics are reminiscent (more of a 'first-person-puzzle-game'). The lore and philosophy really bring out the story as well. Lots of eye candy as well. Never hurts ;)

      I've been playing Fallout NV (first play through) on and off for the last few months. It's showing signs of aging but it's still excellent even in today's standards.

    I've been skipping steam sales but this time around I picked up. Fallout 2, 3 and New Vegas. I beat Fallout 3 but after watching someone talk about the lore in the game and the references to H.P. Lovecraft I figured I'd replay with mods this time and just get an all new experience. I beat it on my Xbox 360 originally.

    Also picked up The Stanley Parable. I played it at Indiecade about a year or so ago and thought it was really cool. I need to hunt around for the different demos of it since I hear all of them are different from each other.

    Bought more than I will have time to play, but nothing expensive.

    Most notably Infinifactory. Was waiting for it to come out of early access, but got it anyway, as it had a nice discount. Knew I will like it, because I liked Space Chem very much, but Infinifactory is even better than I expected. Somehow already managed to spend over 40 hours with it and it still is very enjoyable and addictive. Although not an easy to recommend game, it definitely isn't for everyone, but maybe if you like playing around with Redstone in Minecraft, or maybe if computer programming interests you at least a little bit.

    Even though i am not that big of a Southpark fan, i went ahead and bought the stick of truth. I actually really enjoy it, might not get all the references but its fun anyway. I also bought fallout 3 and new vegas, but i refunded them. it's nothing for me. Oh i almost forgot one finger death punch that game is great.

    Didn't spend to much this year, my wallet is happy.

    I added a ton of games to my wishlist, bought none of them, and ended up buying Batman: Arkham City from another source for $3.75!

    I considered getting Fallout but it just looks so dark and tedious, and I wasn't in the mood to struggle through that.

      Fallout is pretty cool once you get into it, kinda like Skyrim. Exploring is like half the fun. Humble Bundle had a great deal on Batman games, did you get it from there?

        I actually didn't like Skyrim much, so I guess Fallout might not be for me!

        I picked it up from Green Man Gaming, actually.

    Alright, let's do this.

    Bastion Bioshock Bioshock 2 Child of Light Fallout 3 Long Live the Queen Nidhogg (2-pack) Poker Night 2 Prison Architect Risk of Rain (4-pack) Rock of Ages Rogue Legacy The Stanley Parable They Breathe

    And about 10 more games I got for 20 cents each. I went a bit crazy.

    Good call with the Fallout series, its an amazing game! I ended up buying nothing, I guess I have enough games queued up that I felt I didn't need to spend more money on stuff I might never actually play. I remember the good old days when there weren't enough games to quench my thirst... now, I feel like a fish in the ocean!

      It was a bargain too! €5 for the Fallout series and €2.5 for Torchlight 2. But I feel you, I have games in my Steam library that I never got around playing.

    There was a sale you say? Did the Counter Strike package get a deal at all?

      I know CS:GO was on sale, costing around €5 (60%). Don't know about the others though.
